The Boston Heralds Michael Silverman reports that Red Sox owner John Henry is haunted by the racist past of previous owner Tom Yawkey and wants to rename Yawkey Way, the tw0-block street that runs from Brookline Avenue to Boylston Street.

Fort Hood.
John Henry buys, sells and trades people.
“Look at me!” Exactly.
Yawkey Way will be Yawkey Way, until the Glorious Second Coming of our Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ!!!!
What do these people want? People use “Yawkey Way” to find their way around the Fenway, and to find their way to Fenway Park!!!! Phooey, anyway!!!!
Fort Rucker
Yep, I missed one, they are probably others. As part of the healing process, many of the Army bases in the south were named after Confederate generals.
These people that want to erase history are fools.
It’s a race to the bottom.
Fort Polk
Boston, you have a problem :-)
Virtue signaling of the phony aristocracy.
According to Howie Carr this afternoon, when Mr. Yawkey died his estate sold the Red Sox for I think about 700 million dollars - the money was put in a trust by his family and the income from the trust is given to charity every year - to continue to wallow in one element of what someone’s life was and totally discount everything else he or she might have done is simply blind venomous vindictiveness - it is a chilling disregard of the person’s essential humanity, and serves no purpose than to make the perpetrator feel good about himself - it’s sad that that’s how petty some people are......
Henry also tossed a lifeline to that POS rag the Boston Globe which long ago should have been out of business if not for the House that Yawkey rebuilt over in the Fenway.
Yawkey left no heirs so all of his dough went into philanthropy, while the Capitalist Henry reaps the benefit of Yawkey hanging in there with the Red Sox which was one of the poorest performing franchises in Baseball for decades.
I propose “Bucky Effing Dent Way”
Boston didn’t discover virtue on the slavery issue until the 1820s—up until that time the wealthy built many of their fortunes on the backs of slaves.
Slavery in the 1600s and 1700s was no less brutal than it was in the 1800s.
lol
F*ckin’ sports people should stick to sports! Isn’t red a slap in the face of the Indians/Native Americans?
What we are seeing is mass mania. The ending won’t be pretty.
