President Donald Trump is seeking hundreds of millions of dollars in funding for two anti-drug grant programs that the White House Office of Management and Budget called duplicative and worthy of elimination.
After swift push-back from lawmakers and outside interest groups earlier this month, Trump sent Congress "the highest funding amounts ever requested" for the two programs, according to the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy.
If Congress agrees, funding for the Drug-Free Communities grant program, which seeks to prevent youth drug use, would be $91.9 million in fiscal 2018. Grants for law enforcement task forces called High Intensity Drug-Trafficking Areas would be $246.5 million.

Interesting stats, I wonder what % of the prescription opioid deaths were intentional suicides. The increase in the suicide rate for white middle aged women has risen in the last decade or so, supposedly women mostly check out with pills.

Trump should use some of these funds to hire his buddy Mark Burnett to make films and shows that disparage drug usage and drug users.
As it stands now, self destruction is the coin of the realm in ho-wood, where drug worship is glamorized.
If they can depict drug abusers as they are — weak, slavish, ill, and vulnerable — it would be more effective against the dim-witted yutes than merely telling them to “Just Say No”.
Good question, but no easy answer. Unless they leave a note, the assumption has to be accidental.
Looking around you are right, it’s hard to pin down. I imagine most of the note writing prescription opioid suicides were probably already addicts, but who knows. I found this, don’t know how legit is.
