Didn’t Reagan (as governor) end free college at California State Colleges back in the late 60’s?

I think there was GPA involved for acceptance rather than an income level. But I’m not positive about that.

I do have 1 cousin who took advantage of that program and he spent 10 years at college obtaining a doctorate. To offset costs of living expensesn he lived at home while doing so. Very convenient. My other cousin out there went to Cal-Poly on a football scholarship, quit, was drafted....and after kicking some drill instructor’s collective butts during a remedial beat down (common during that era), went to courts martial and due to extenuating circumstances was let go with an unsuitability discharge after which he spent his life as a logger up in the Northwest.

Californian’s were different before the drug and love revolution crept in and distorted reality.

No, it was ended by economic reality in the late 70's.
