Conservative talk show host, Michael Savage, who fervently supported Trump during the Presidential campaign, soured on him today. Savage, referencing his background in science, having a PhD in epidemiology, said the alleged gas attack in the ISIS controlled city of Idlib was most likely phosgene and not sarin.
Backing up his claim that the attack did not contain sarin, Savage made reference to photos showing first responders attending to bodies without gloves or protective gear. Had sarin been used in the attack, all of those men in white helmets would be dead.
In nearly a 15 minute soliloquy over the attack, Savage lamented that the neocon 'military tweet' by Trump was a ploy to increase his popularity, in light of falling poll numbers. Verbosely, Savage hemmed and hawed with disappointment, dispirited that he spent over a year advocating for Trump, who said he eschewed the interventionist policies of people like McCain, Graham, and Schumer, only to cave in shortly after winning the Presidency.
Savage also questioned the timing of Jared Kushner's trip to Iraq, coupled with Bannon's timely demotion from the NSC -- just ahead of the attacks as being highly suspicious.
"This whole thing stinks to high heaven,' said Savage. Furthering his criticism of the President, Savage proclaimed: "It looks like Hillary, deep state won, and Trump is doing her bidding."
As it pertained to who was responsible for the attack, Savage reminded his audience that just last week Putin was considered to be the smartest and most diabolical man on earth. If so, why on earth would he permit Assad to launch a chemical weapons attack, when they had already defeated the rebels, which was sure to turn public opinion against them?
"Why would he do it, you morons you?", said Savage.
Who are we supporting? According to Lindsey Graham, the 'free Syrian army.'
Savage exploded: "The free Syrian Army? There is no such thing. The free Syrian Army are our moderate terrorists created by the CIA and John McCain. John McCain and Lindsey Graham are the mouthpieces for this army of murderers."
"The west jumped to a conclusion, before there was any investigation."
A must listen to a voice of reason.
Savage like some here at FR want purity and perfection. And just like here savage has no information on the gas attack just lots of conspiracy crapola
As much as I admire Savage for “border, language, culture,” sometimes his grasp of facts and reality is less than stellar.
Zzzz...time to take a vacation from the good doctor, who often prevaricates “it’s just one mans opinion” and lately waxed lovingly about the work effort of illegal leeches and who wouldn’t even sue the guy that jumped him
Military force should be used only when it will protect us. We should not get involved in other countries’ battles. Assad is not a good person. We have no friends in m*slim countries. The enemy of our enemy is our enemy.
This was an act of moral outrage - a good thing in itself, but the USA is not the policeman of the world.
Ask the Christians in Syria who the good guys are.
Savage will say anything that boosts the number of people listening to Savage.
When I went through NBC training, it was considered a choking agent. It doesn’t produce the blisters typical of a mustard gas. those are very distinct. Phosgene ultimately impairs respiratory gas exchange. In other words, it chokes you.

I think Trump may know it was a false flag but used it to his advantage anywae.
Substitute Sadam for Assad and Iraq for Syria.. we are being manipulated into another quagmire with this gas attack. Haven’t learned our lesson, yet? How many Americans will you commit to die for this? I suggest zero, unless there is a direct American threat. This is a war over a gas pipeline and a religion, sound familiar? It should.
It is looking solid to me that the attack happened, and that this was a real test of Trump which he answered soundly.
In nearly a 15 minute soliloquy over the attack, Savage lamented that the neocon 'military tweet' by Trump was a ploy to increase his popularity, in light of falling poll numbers.
This is the bane of almost every new administration in Washington. Once they realize that they can't accomplish a domestic agenda quickly, they run around looking for things they can do without Congressional approval -- so they can "look presidential." Invariably, this ends up being a diplomatic or military affair that can generate tons of media coverage and can be spun easily as a quick result.
My theory leans close to Savage. There was just no upside for Assad to use chemicals at this point. Now Drudge is reporting Ivanka played a big role in convincing Trump to bomb Syria. This is Trumps aspirin factory.
It is disappointing that self-identified conservatives would approve of Trump’s aggression upon Syria.
Edmund Burke, the original conservative, wrote, “War never leaves, where it found a nation. It is never to be entered into without mature deliberation; not a deliberation lengthened out into a perplexing indecision, but a deliberation leading to a sure and fixed judgment.”
The U.S. Constitution Article 1 Section 8 explicitly states that the U.S. Congress has the responsibility to deliberate matters of war and exclusive power to make such declarations.
The Syrians never attacked or threatened to attack the U.S. Regardless of who murdered whom, the situation in Syria created no exigency that would require precipitous action by the President. It would have been a simple matter for President Trump to go before Congress and ask Congress for a declaration of war. Congress would then have to do its job. For all his talk about international rules and humanitarian compassion, President Trump has illegally usurped Congress in its most critical function.
For some reason, many so-called conservatives approve.
And, the feckless, lazy, worthless denizens of Congress are content to have Trump take all the risk attendant to another war in the Middle East.
This was an act of moral outrage - a good thing in itself, but the USA is not the policeman of the world.
Sometimes when the star athlete sees a bully terrorizing the weak, he needs to cuff the bully and tell him to knock it off. If the star athlete takes the position that it's none of his business, he is essentially taking the position that the bully's actions are acceptable, since he's not willing to do anything to stop him.
The star athlete is in the best position to get the bully to stop, and if the star athlete doesn't act, nobody else will either.
I concur with you completely. This was done by ISIS and the NWO to pull their a$$es out of the frying pan. I don’t think Trump knew and if he gets proof that this was done (I think he will) he should have everyone who plotted this skinned alive.
Yup the “white helmets” are not who they appear to be.

That theory has a spoilage sticker on it though. If the enemies of Trump don't produce the evidence and embarrass the POTUS as a deranged gunslinger who is too quick on the tweeter, then the theory collapses and just becomes a weak conspiracy theory meant for disinformation. Truth is truth, and if Assad attacked with Chem weapons, partly as a test of the US, then Trump's response is correct.
Shooting million dollar rockets up camels’ asses has been the only strategy of US administrations in the Middle East for the past 40 years.
It has failed every single time.
Donald Trump explicitly and unequicocably said he would not follow this policy.
Within three months of taking office it’s whoooosh! and we have more expensively barbequed camels.
He couldn’t repeal Obamacare so he goes for the neo-con option.
Has he built the wall yet?
Savage has a problem with thinking sometimes.
