Moved the goal post? The goal post is right where it’s always been: Full repeal of Obamacare, replace with free market solutions.
Gee, that’s a tough job. Damn right it is and that’s why we chose a fighting general to git ‘er done!
It was a tough job for Lincoln. For MacArthur. For Patton. For FDR! All of these guys battled the enemy and the press and public opinion and they were doggedly determined, persistent and they prevailed despite all obstacles.
Because they were in the right. The American people know when you are in the right.
You can’t get it done by throwing in the towel!
You sure as hell can’t drain the swamp by becoming a swamp dweller!
The American people love a fighter and will come along if there’s no quit in him. That’s precisely what got him elected.
There was only one amendment allowed on the bill. It was procedural. So, if the goal posts were moved it wasn’t in the bill because the bill never changed.
In other words, since there were no amendments of substance to the bill, then what the FC was asking for could NOT have been in the bill.
Totally agree with you, whole-heartedly and without reservations.
Surely you realize by now that the only reason repeal was ever passed was because everyone voting for it knew it would be vetoed by the President.
Funny how there's no balls for passing that bill anymore.
Congress is the swamp, and there's no way that a 25-member faction can impose their will on a majority that is unwilling to permit it.
So gridlock stays, which means Obamacare stays.
Great.
Don't hold your breath for that whimsical "repeal only"&mfdash;it won't happen with a President who would actually sign it.
When you figure out a way to magically eliminate the swamp which is 95% of the Congress, let me know—meanwhile, everybody has to live and function in the real world.
I believe "LS" and Rep. Poe, who have both asserted that the HFC did move the goalposts. As such, the HFC deserves as much blame as anyone else for this debacle.
The perfect is the enemy of the good. A pox on both their houses...
