IIRC; Western Germany wasn't salivating at the thought of the East German 'invasion'.
How'd that ever work out?
Not great. They ended up with Merkel, who gave them unrestricted Islamic hijrah (jihad by immigration) invaders.
German unification offers lessons on how to handle Korean unification. Simply put, it cannot be a union between equals. The only possible way for it to work would be for the South to completely take over the North, in the manner of a victorious nation conquering a defeated one in war. The North would become a colony of the South, and the South would have unfettered power to reshape the North’s government, politics, educational systems, and so on, all in whatever image they choose.
The DMZ would not come crashing down like the Berlin Wall, but would remain in place for at least a decade, maybe more. Northerners would be kept in place, slowly re-educated, and at first allowed to visit the South only in small, controlled groups, for limited periods of time. Freedom of movement between the two halves of the country would be introduced gradually, over a period of many years.
In other words, the model to use is not German reunification, but the United States’ occupation of Japan after World War II.
Vastly different population mindset entirely Elsie.
