Farage and the 'Bad Boys of Brexit' set their sights on splitting California in two

Nigel Farage and Leave backer Arron Banks just returned from a trip to California

They helped raise $1million for a 'Calexit', which would split California in two

The appear to be pitting the eastern, more rural side of California against the western 'coastal elite' liberals in Los Angeles and San Francisco

The eastern part of California would more likely vote Republican, giving the party two more senators and electoral college votes for a 2020 election

The Western side of the state would likely continue to vote Democrat

The goal is to hold a referendum during the US midterm elections in 2018

The 'Bad Boys of Brexit' who led the campaign to break Britain away from the European Union have taken on a new exit challenge: splitting California into two states.

Former UKip leader Nigel Farage and Leave backer Arron Banks have just returned from the United States, where they helped raise $1million (£800,000) for a 'Calexit' campaign, which would split California into two eastern and western regions.

There are several 'Calexit' campaigns competing for a referendum in the United States, with one aiming to remove the state from America entirely as a response to President Donald Trump being elected last year.

Farage and Banks, who led the 'Leave.EU' campaign, appear to be pitting the eastern, more rural side of California against the western 'coastal elite' liberals in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

As much as the left hates the electoral college, they aren’t going to allow 55+ electoral votes to just go away.

Calexit is a liberal pipe drug induced wet dream.

In the past couple of months I have had some Intellectual yet Idiot liberal lawyers (Cal Bezerkley and Stanford grads) try to rile me up by suggesting/taunting with Cal Exit.

I have told them that it is a wonderful ideal. I would collect signatures at Whole Foods entrance/exit from Noon to 3 pm (after liberals on welfare wake up) and get paid for each signature.

Then, at 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm, Mon-Fri, when working/tax paying Californians are getting off work and on Saturdays. I will collect signatures at Walmart for the State of Jefferson from tax paying workers, for free.

When the Intellectual Yet Idiots ask me why, I tell them that eliminating California's democrat electoral votes will destroy the democrats forever in any presidential election.

Then, losing Finestein and her fellow liberal senators and their left wing congressits and adding two conservative senators and congressmen in the New State of Jefferson would destroy the rats in Congress for decades.

Then, the liberal Intellectual Yet Idiots have no response, except that won't happen.

I tell them try us and see!

Here is an interesting article about him, as well as, talk about Free Vermont & Texit. The guy does not sound like a Democrat, and the article calls him a former right-wing activist from Buffalo, New York because he returned to the United States to campaign against LGBTQ rights as part of the National Organization for Marriage. To me he just sounds like he is a supporter of Russia.

Note, he started this movement before Trump was elected, but since that event it has gained steam primarily because several influential tech figures took to Twitter to voice their desire for California to leave the union after Trump’s election. Among them was Shervin Pishevar, an investor and co-founder of Hyperloop One.

Then you’d be making a massive mistake.

I gave you some serious repercussions and you just dismissed each of them to maintain your view.

California’s funds go to help lesser states clear across the West.

Who steps in?

Well, only one form of government has been presented in 30 years.

How would your state fair if no Conservative voices were heard for over three decades?

We need to bring all of California back to the good side.

Not going to happen. You are outnumbered unless you are willing to start a civil war and kill all of the leftists and illegals. No? Not up to it? Well, then go to plan B. Divorce.

Oh really? In what way?

California is on the verge of bankruptcy and have the most draconian taxes than any other state in this country just to keep alive........

Why do you think that businesses are fleeing that state just as fast as they can pack their bags?

“We need to bring all of California back to the good side.”

Most voters in California think that we need to be brought back to the good side. How long do you think that the political Left and Right can continue to exchange control of the Federal government without oppression increasing with every new administration?

We need to bring all of California back to the good side.

Not going to happen on the coastal plain CA due to SF and LA, specifically West LA. Ya see the problem with conservatives is instead of taking a stand, they flee, run away and haul ass from trouble. It's what millions of so call con-servatives did.

These are the same people who if the run once, will run again. Bet the rent. When the punches are throw those folks were the first to bail out. Then they tried to get JR from FR to do the same. This is certainly no way to win wars.

Nah, you offer folks an alternative.

Do you live in California? Have you noticed that the state Republican leadership does absolutely nothing? NOTHING!

They don’t support our Conservative candidates. When we ran Pete Simon in 2002, he got nothing from the state Republican Party.

He had a budget of about $2 million, and Davis had a budget of $12 million plus.

Davis flew around in a corporate jet. Simon rode around in a bus.

The Republican party has ceded California to the Left.

That needs to stop. It’s to our nation’s benefit to stop it.

Because of taxation and over-regulation...

The GDP of California still remains high. It is still ranked fifth on the planet for GNP behind the full United States, China, Germany, Great Britain, and one other I can’t remember right now.

It would be even better if we turned it back to sound principles.

California’s biggest problem, is it’s pension systems that seem ready to go ballistic.

That doesn’t mean that as a tax base it hasn’t been contributing vast amounts to the federal tax coffers.

It has.

Only a complete fool would support getting rid of CA’s massive deep water harbors where it’s home for U.S. Navy, and other massive military assets, not to mention huge training areas, strategic venues, epic food production, resources et al.

This whole topic reminds me of the Eastern Roman Empire, which watched region after region fall to the Ottomans, while the leaders fought amongst themselves, at times allying with the invaders to battle their own Byzantine rivals. Eventually there was only Constantinople left. We know how that turned out.
