Folks, this smells to me like the McDonald’s account was hacked. To my knowledge McDonald’s has never had a reputation for being overtly political, let alone allowing itself to post such a juvenile unprofessional tweet. Can we at least give the story a chance to play out before deciding to boycott and crucify the Golden Arches?
They hired former Obama Press Secretary Robert Gibbs to be their vice president in charge of communications. Their twitter account is under his direct control.
My guess is that Gibbs got drunk and let his feelings go. He probably has a personal twitter account and accidentally posted this on the corporate account.
Either way, it is obvious that this is the opinion of the guy in charge of their twitter account.

McD’s has overstayed their welcome. The food is marginal at best as compared to other fast food chains and their only reason for prior appeal has been their advertising promotions. Other than the hype, they are no better than any of the others. Having other options, I go else where.

When I read about someone being fired for this stupidity, I will consider going back in a year or two.
