President Trump has told Republican leaders that he's prepared to play hardball with congressional conservatives to pass the GOP healthcare bill, including by supporting the 2018 primary challengers of any Republican who votes against the bill.
Sources told the Washington Examiner that Trump made that threat in a White House meeting on Tuesday with House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, R-La., and other members of the House GOP whip team that helps line up votes.
Trump's threat is one that could resonate. Most of the Republicans who oppose the GOP's American Health Care Act represent ruby red districts that strongly support Trump and his agenda.

DeMint left that meeting saying Trump was receptive to the criticisms made in that meeting.
The media has done everything it can to drive a wedge between Trump and the Conservatives who supported him.
Second only to the media, the NeverTrumpers have been salivating at this possibility. Screw the nation, as long as they can trash Trump and make the case they told others so.
This will play out. I’ll be watching. Some folks are going to be upset, whichever way it goes.

Unless he is doing a complete headfake here and is playing chess as the Rats play checkers and insert your own spin metaphors here, I don’t get it.
NO ONE likes Version 1 or even Version 2 of the GOP healthcare bill. Not the House, the Senate, the conservative media, even Ryan admits it needs work.
NO ONE likes it. Except Trump.
Maybe soon we’ll figure out his strategy here in pushing hard for this crap. But right now - he’s got us confused.
