MAQUOKETA, Iowa -- The national trend of Republican lawmakers facing angry crowds of constituents arrived in Iowa today.
Tuesday afternoon Sen. Joni Ernst sat through a 45 minute town hall meeting in Maquoketa. After taking her final question the crowd showered her with boos and chants of "Do your job."

Not necessary. I think you’re right and there were a number who shared your view. While Joni is conservative, she is junior. She beat Sam Clovis to get the job by telling the folks from Iowa to send her to Washington so she could make them squeal like a big (She was raised on a big farm).

Thanks, fhios!
Liz, another suggestion on how to stop the leftist bullying.
Check ID’s and non constituents don’t get in.
Good one....
So how did Trump keep them out?
rdcbn :”Republicans may be facing angry crowds, but many are not constituents.
They are well paid astro turf operatives bussed in out from of state”
When given a microphone by a staff person, have that citizen produce their drivers license to confirm identity and location within the district.
No license, not question allowed..
Seems reasonable—often you cannot leave a voicemail or message with a Rep or Senator that is not representing your District
Simple. Check names and addresses and telephone numbers of people planning on attending and then limit attendance to people within your district. This will stop this harassment dead in its track.
Do it as a Skype meeting, allow people to sign in with their name and address. mute the phones and allow questions from people in the district. This way non of the rent a mob types will be seen or heard and the meeting can actually be a productive sharing of ideas.
My Rep never ever does in-person townhalls—always electronic over the phone. He calls constituents (not sure if just those who signed up to be called) and answers questions on a group call.
I checked election results and Maquoketa, IA went overwhelmingly for Trump! (Results do not include absentee.)
Trump: 1020
Clinton: 557
“I doubt 50% of these protesters were even from Iowa.”
Entry tickets for verified constituents puts a damper on bused in agitators.
Exactly. How do we know these are leftists paid protestors? Because their tactic is always the same. Shutting down anyone else who wants to say something. Disruption.
As if this is going to get people to vote in 2018? These fake constituents? lol
Or is this suppose to create a “look” of discontent with R’s and Trump?
Such a sham.

Documents the source of the astroturfing at all these Republican town halls.
WEEKLY according to adds on Craig’s List.
Please don’t be like them in exaggerating reality !!!
yes, they would stand out in suits and ties in small town iowa. 10 bucks at Wal-Mart and you fit right in Anywhere Iowa. I don’t care what they look like, they were simply there to disrupt. They are not providing any sort of reasoned debate, they’re hired or volunteered to disrupt and shut down.
I had the state legislators’ town hall meeting on my calendar for Saturday morning but decided I had better things to do.
On Monday, I heard from a reliable source that some union thug went up to my house member, Ashley Hinson, and said, “You’re a c**t!”
Maybe it’s a good thing I wasn’t there. If I’d witnessed that, I probably would have done something regrettable.
These people are being organized and paid just like Hitler organized and paid the SA to terrorize anyone who opposed him.
Organized (labor) for sure. But, I doubt these a-holes watching their cash cow headed to slaughter required any additional incentive to show up.
Hinson (R-Cedar Rapids) and Ken Rizer (R-Marion) held a joint town hall meeting Friday after work. I'd guess there were 300 people, most of of them the aforementioned a-hole variety. I left during what was said would be the last question (it had already gone 30 minutes past the advertised duration). Although they were definitely agitated, generally unwilling to listen to reason, rude and often loud, I witnessed no personal attacks. But, Col. Rizer gave me the impression that one of the chief agitators was the b*st*rd who called Ashley the c-word at the previous event.
