A White House official said the US won't impose any "solution" on Israel or the PA: it will support a deal reached together.
Officials in the Palestine Liberation Organization and Palestinian Authority warned U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday not to walk away from the so-called two-state solution to their seemingly endless conflict with Israel.
The president meets with Israels Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday.
The warning came in response to remarks by a senior White House official who said the United States will no longer impose any solution to peace on either party, but rather would support whatever deal the two sides reach together.
A two-state solution that doesnt bring peace is not our goal that anybody wants to achieve, the official said at a White House briefing, according to several media sources. Peace is the goal, whether it comes in the form of a two-state solution if thats what the parties want or something else, if thats what the parties want, were going to help them.
Husam Zomlot, strategic affairs adviser to Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah, said in a phone interview with Reuters in Jerusalem, The two-state solution is not something we just came up with. It is an international consensus and decision after decades of Israels rejection of the one-state democratic formula.
Hanan Ashrawi, a senior member of the Palestine Liberation Organization, was quoted as saying, If the Trump Administration rejects this policy it would be destroying the chances for peace and undermining American interests, standing and credibility abroad, in response to the U.S. officials remarks.
Accommodating the most extreme and irresponsible elements in Israel and in the White House is no way to make responsible foreign policy, she added in a statement to the A-Sharq Al-Awsat English-language news site.
The only two-state solution Trump should be interested in is California and Jefferson, or maybe New York and Fiveboroughs.
Abbas Played Livni for a fool, he got 100+ murdering terrorists convicts out of Israel jail, and then called the peace process dead and left the table.
Abbas then entered into a coalition with Hamas, who is on the USA Terrorist group list, and that led to the war out of Gaza that killed many Israelis, and had Israel showered by thousands of missiles.
Why would any country think these Fakestinians can become peaceful neighbors ?
Why do we even give them money?? Shut it off
We, the undersigned in the PLO/HAMAS reject your attempt to create a real peace scenario in our region.
We have been doing just fine these past 24 years by avoiding direct talks with the KILL THEM ALL ZIONIST PIGS!! Ooops I mean, the Israeli state who's name we cannot mention because then we would justify their existence.
We cal them the Zionist entity so as to avoid having to deal with them.
So, please do not stop the empty peace process for in this way we can continue to wage war on the Jews, ooops, I mean Zionists, and kill them all.
We know that the concept of the “Two state solution” is nothing other than the 1947 Partition for Palestine proposal which we rejected way back then as well.
You see, President Trump we do not want peace nor are we, as a society ready for it. We need to be in the permanent status of poor unfortunate victims in order to get billions of Dollars in aid for killing more Jews, oops, I mean Zionsists. That money goes to manufacture bombs and teach our children to hate, kill, rape, maim and butcher the Jews, ooops, I mean the Zionists.
Please stop your actions towards moving to a real peace, we do not want it.
If we REALLY wanted peace we would have made it with the Jews, I mean Zionists back in 1993 but we had no such intentions...
These jack-azzes are in no position to “warn” anybody, especially given their history. They’re lucky to still be breathing air.
Anyone that’s ever been to Israel and been on the their side of the line knows just how trashy and nasty these low-life bassturds are.
Israel lies in land once claimed by Egypt, Jordan, and Syria. All three of them seem quite willing to live peacefully with Israel. The only problem is the PLO. Trump is offering them the "opportunity" to disappear, unless they sign a peace agreement.
I say we go with a three state solution.
Israel annexes the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and Golan Heights.
The Arabs occupying West Bank and Gaza are returned to there home countries - Jordan and Egypt respectively.
You end up with three states - Egypt, Israel, and Jordan.
PLO is not the Strong Horse here....
And President Trump, please stop the flow of US taxpayer dollars to the “Palestinian” terrorist government
Now THIS is the truth.
What if they don't want to go? And what if Jordan and Egypt don't want them?
who wants the Gaza Strip???
No pigastine, ever.
Or what? WHAT are you going to do about it, Paleoswinian Terrorist Organization? You going to verbally attack us? So what, no one cares. You going to physically attack us? Go ahead, see how many times you can do that before we tell the Israeli to go completely postal on you. You going to try to assassinate our President? Well, back at you, we can do the same (and you won’t be successful, we will) - and you will also cease to exist as anything but cells of 2 or 3 members.
Here’s some friendly advice to you terrorist assholes: don’t write checks that you can’t cash.
The reality is that many Palestinians don't favor the two state solution and are looking for something else. Bibi was correct to say yesterday, forget the labels and let's deal with substance.
The Gaza Strip is just crying out to be re-developed as a tourist and recreation destination with hotels, spas and casinos. It has great beaches. Only problem is the current inhabitants.
The Arabs there could live there comfortably and peacefully if they wanted to, taking tourists’ money in large quantities.
Well, no one will utter a peep if the Jordanians or the Egyptians kill them.
And how can Israel be hated any more than it already is?
Naive? Do you know his background and connections with Israel? His paternal grandparents, Rae and Joseph Kushner, were Holocaust survivors who came to the U.S. from Poland. He is an orthodox jew.
Negotiating is what he does in the business world. And frankly, he will not be brokering a deal without a very experienced and knowledgeable government staff behind him. Kushner is far from being naive.
yes the current inhabitants - Hamas/ISIS - while i feel for the Arabs trapped there, i wouldn’t wish this hellhole on anyone to rule. better to have a border to protect -
