Kremlin says it wants apology from Fox News over Putin comments
Reuters ^ | 02/06/17

The Kremlin said on Monday it wanted an apology from Fox News over what it said were "unacceptable" comments one of the channel's presenters made about Russian President Vladimir Putin in an interview with U.S. counterpart Donald Trump.

Fox News host Bill O'Reilly described Putin as "a killer" in the interview with Trump as he tried to press the U.S. president to explain more fully why he respected his Russian counterpart. O'Reilly did not say who he thought Putin had killed.

"We consider such words from the Fox TV company to be unacceptable and insulting, and honestly speaking, we would prefer to get an apology from such a respected TV company," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on a conference call.

Fox News and O'Reilly did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.

Trump's views on Putin are closely scrutinized in the United States where U.S. intelligence agencies have accused Moscow of having sponsored computer hacking to help Trump win office, and critics say he is too complimentary about the Russian leader.

Trump, when commenting on the allegations against Putin in the same interview, questioned how "innocent" the United States itself was, saying it had made a lot of its own mistakes. That irritated some Congressional Republicans who said there was no comparison between how Russian and U.S. politicians behaved.

I have thought about that given the across the spectrum meme that “ Putin is a thug” from every politician

My theory is that the U.S. military ( and the industry that depends on it) must have an enemy to justify its existence

The USG have evolved into a global power that needs an enemy to justify what we do and the scale on which we do if

Sounds like lefty theory but it’s starting to make sense given the absolute hostile irrationality of the establishment toward Trumps stated desire to develop a far different relationship with Russia as a rival and competitor but a state with its own national interests that must be analyzed and accepted as part of a mutual framework - not as an immoral murderous conniving foe

Even with a leader other than Putin who conveniently has been labeled as a gangster - Russia is not going to surrender its permanent national interests to what the globalists seem to want

I hate the leftist media as much as anyone, but that’s not actually accurate:

No, the left hates Putin because of the way he treats gays in Russia. This is all about gay rights.

The conflicts in Ukraine and Syria were started by Obama and Hillary. Obama took down the elected Ukrainian president and tried to take down Assad. Russia acted defensively.

“As for the other assassinations of journalists during his reign, experts say Putin isn’t directly responsible for any of them.”

What threat do they pose to us?

They don't pose a threat to 'us'. They do pose a threat to all the corrupt/lying/cheating/child molesting politicians.

Yes, Putin has undoubtedly had people killed.

It is foolish for Russia to pretend that they haven’t killed overtly and covertly. Whether they saw it as national interest or not is irrelevant.

That same with the US....as Trump pointed out.

That’s why Putin has aligned with the mad mullahs of Iran, to stop the Great Satin and its corrupt/lying/cheating/child molesting politicians.

STOP TALKING TO THE IDIOTS IN THE MEDIA

It was very stupid of O’Reilly to call Putin a killer and put The President of the USA on the spot.

Just do your job and tweet the results and ignore the media

exactly, and also O.R. the big mouth calling a leader of a country who we have to work with a killer was amateur at best.

Also for the Presidents answer. I recall obama ordering a drone strike on an American muslim, and as bad, and as much as a scumbag he is that was clearly unconstitutional.. Where were the protests of bombing him, and 7 countries?

I was riffing off 1984, in which Oceania, when it ceased fighting Eurasia and started fighting Eastasia, would claim that we had always been at war with Eastasia.

What about his overseas critics who mysteriously died from Polonium-210 poisoning, which is an extremely painful way to go, by the way?

The problem isn’t that Putin kills opponents.

WTF?!
The pro-Putin response on this thread is inexplicable.
Putin is a monster.
