It was late August 1968, just before the election. I happened to be in San Francisco when this was going on, guest of a SF doctor’s family. I was watching the riot on TV figuring that the protestors were getting exactly the trouble that they wanted, when the doctor’s wife piped up about how terrible the cops were, the poor protestors, etc. My first introduction to the bizarrely clueless world of San Francisco liberalism.
No kidding
The weathermen got their butts kicked
But some city reporter or something got paralyzed fighting them
By 1973-74 we had copies of Prarie Fire floating around
Ashamed to admit
But then I met some active radicals and they were such assholes as people
As I’ve said before Dana Beal a crazy as hell prankster yippie was at least funny
I used to walk by the townhouse they blew up on west 11th frequently
Crazy ...most were just spoiled Jewish upper middle class kids either from red families or indoctrinated
Some of the girls were cute......Oughton
