I’m military.
We don’t put much stock in commanders awarding medals to each other.
Had one general, Wayne Downing, who didn’t think medals should be handed out willy-nilly for anything short of killed or just about killed in live action.
But he was consistent, so it didn’t matter. In many ways, his sentiments at the time were right.
My Dad didn’t think the purple heart should be awarded to anyone but KIA. He had his great-uncles PH, killed in WWII.
Pop got knocked out diving into a bunker (he was tall), went down in a helicopter and suffered any number of hurts and boo boos while earning his CIB but refused a PH.
Not surprisingly, Obama & Co. are degrading all of us one last time with this medals nonsense.
(As an aside, Beatle Boots Rubio voted for John Kerry but plays coy with a Trump appt.)
Seven more days.
Smash the GOP-e!
Where I worked the people who took the risks daily had a medal or 2. The people in HQ and the investigators had chests full
Sounds right by me. I was awarded a medal from the Navy for being an expert (the highest rating) pistol shot. I now think I should have been issued a warfare qualification pin, as, on one assignment, I actually had to carry a pistol!
