Positive energy does not win elections. Votes do and we have been handicapped by 50+ years of changing demographics that do not favor our side. Allowing the Democrats to import millions of new voters is not without consequences. Additionally, Trump faces the herculean task of battling not only his Democratic opponent who enjoys the full support of the media but his own party as they try to hobble him.
Yes, there is a chance that he might lose and all the "good energy" in the world will not change this. The question the OP posted was, "what then?"

Are you sure about that? I have seen at the rallies BIG TURNOUT of folks from all different backrounds, meaning all colors, both genders, ethnic groups, etc. That says something.
