I don't see what we have to lose by not voting for Reichert.
Why vote for a RINO when you can get a real Demoncrat?
Another worthless wimp exiting the closet!
"Washington Rep. Congressman Dave Reichart says he wont vote for Donald Trump in the wake of his comments and blatant disrespect for women."
FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponents Argument
Since the only sex-related issue that the states have amended the Constitution to expressly protectet deals only with voting rights as evidenced by the 19th Amendment, the feds actually have no constitutional authority outside the scope of voting rights to regulate, tax and spend in the name of womens issues imo.
Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States. Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]. United States v. Butler, 1936.
So I dont know where Representative Reichart is coming from concerning not supporting Trump because of Trumps alleged disrespect for women, other than low-information Reighert must be a part of the corrupt, women-exploiting, Trump-hating Washington cartel.
Remember in November !
Patriots need to support Trump / Pence by also electing a new, state sovereignty-respecting Congress that will not only work within its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers to support Trumps vision for making America great again for everybody, but will also put a stop to unconstitutonal federal taxes and likewise unconstitutional inteference in state affairs as evidenced by unconstitutional interference in state powers dealing with womens affairs.
Note that such a Congress will also probably be willing to fire state sovereignty-ignoring activist justices.
I live in Washington. This ass has been a NeverTrumper since day 1. He was one of the lowlifes that tried to rig the state for Cruz.
His office already has me on record as a no vote because of his support for Bohner.
Reichart is just a dem. I may as well vote for feces.
I think I will just right in ‘feces’.
In all fairness, Reichert, a Republican, could not have been elected in my district had he not been the lead detective on the Green River serial murders. He was (is) center-left on every issue that matters to me, but he has always been a stalwart defender of law and order, even on most immigration issues.
Just to give you an idea about the political sympathies in Reichert’s old district, our current Congressman is Adam Smith (a Democrat, LOL!), who got almost 75% of the vote in 2014.
Our current State Senator is a Republican. He co-sponsored Washington's gay marriage law several elections ago!
I’m appalled by what Trump said about women.
That’s why I’m voting for the Clintons. :)
I am not sure what to do. I did a lot of phone-banking for state repubs from his office in July and August. I still love my state guys, but not sure I want to set foot in Reichert’s office again.
Um, a House seat?
He's a worm, but you should still vote for him unless there is a third-party candidate with a good attitude and a realistic chance of winning (highly unlikely).
Remember, President Trump will need a GOP congress if he is to get anything done beyond abrogating Zero's executive orders.
Principle has no place in the voting booth. The objective of voting is to enact the best outcome, not to feel good about yourself.
