Alex Smith lost the NFC championship to the Giants. The entire rest of the team beat the Giants, except for Ted Ginn. SB XLVI was the 49ers to lose.

Did you actually watch the Super Bowl against Baltimore. Kaep brought the team back in re3cord-setting fashion from a huge deficit. Then Greg Roman called the same play to Michael Crabtree for four plays! Unfortunately, the one run the called was a penalty on the offensive line. Greg Roman threw the game away.

Anyone can have an opinion, stats don’t lie. Smith is tied for the 7th lowest all time career interception record (2.3%) and the 27th best pass completion record (61%). Kaepernick doesn’t make the top 180 in either category.

I’ll self correct. He doesn’t make that list because he hasn’t had 1500 attempts yet. His numbers are better than I thought. A little better than Smith on interceptions, a little worse on completions. But Smith played hurt on a lot of very bad teams for years, without the same Offensive Coordination two years in a row. Kaep had the luxury of starting out in a team that was hot.
