[Vanity] On CNN - Ted Cruz Will Not Endorse Trump In Speech
CNN | July 19, 2016 | Pinkbell

Posted on 07/19/2016 11:45:20 PM PDT by Pinkbell

CNN had two different people on who said Ted Cruz will not be endorsing Cruz in his speech. The one reporter said that Ted Cruz anticipates running for President in 2020 if Trump loses and wants to show his sympathies with the Never Trump movement who has supported him.

This is just as I feared when Ted was asked to speak. Trump was kind enough to ask him, but I worried that Ted would use this speech to pad his own resume, to preach to his base, to audition for 2020. Ted should not be permitted to use this speech for his own ambitions.

Ted Cruz has allowed the Never Trump movement, with many of the members (at least the ones I see on Twitter) as Cruz supporters, to fester. He allowed the division and the attempts to free the delegates, ignoring the will of the people. That chaos on the floor the other day? Led by Cruz allies/delegates!

Ted Cruz has refused to honor a pledge that he signed, that he would have expected Trump to honor. Ted knows that his endorsement may encourage some of his supporters to vote for Trump. Ted also knows it might push some of his supporters away, the ones who would call it a betrayal. Ted is staying with the ones who would call it a betrayal.

If Ted is a true conservative, 4 years of Hillary and her stacking the court would be unthinkable. If Ted is a true Republican, he would want a Republican to win. It seems he is putting his political ambitions first. It's good for Ted Cruz (in his mind) if Trump doesn't win, but it's certainly not good for our country. I don't think it will be good for Ted either. He just doesn't realize now that 14 million Trump voters won't forget how he conducted himself.

Ted's spot should be revoked in an ideal world. Unfortunately, I think the media fallout if Trump revokes and party division with Cruz supporters who are reluctantly voting for Trump would be a problem at this point. He'll be allowed to speak, and I think he should have never been offered the slot.

Maybe CNN has absolutely blown this and will have egg on their face tomorrow. Maybe their sources will be wrong or maybe Ted will change his mind. If Ted does endorse Trump, I think opinions on him would improve.

Just remember folks......CNN & MSNBC played the “Melania” tune every minute yesterday and, told us the streets of Cleveland would be strewn with rioting protesters!!! Today...not a mention of the “Melania” gig, and very few protesters to be found anywhere!! These networks lie, just like Obama, Clinton and every Democrat!!!

Keep this ahole off of the freaking stage.

He is slime of a higher order, lower order I suppose actually, than Hillary herself.

He has no business being at the convention at this point in time if he is not going to give his support.

If he does run for President in 2020, he will be in the same position as Trump is now, looking for party unity after the primaries. Perhaps Cruz and his bots should think about that.

Cruz is being handed a lot of rope. We’ll see what he does with it.

He still has to be re-elected in 2018 to have a political future.

Cruz has shown BAD judgment from Ashley Madison,
to his big mouth, to his lies, to his snarky stealing
of votes, and finally to his VOTE to allow a vote
on ObamaTRADE.

Cruz is evil and tricked hundreds of FReepers to
consider him, until it became clearer that
his father was more likely to have helped murder
JFK than Ted actually being a conservative.

Forget 2020. Cruz will be lucky if he can hold his senate seat in 2018.

An up and coming Texan needs to run against him, and just run ad after ad showing Cruz’s divisiveness and willingness to throw this election to Hillary.

After Cruz finally goes totally weird he will find himself working at the only job he’s qualified for. That would be working on a commercial fishing boat.

He would have an opportunity to start as a deck hand and work himself up to “master baiter”.

Ted is walking a wire of his own making. He allowed this #NeverTrump stuff to fester. He could have put the kibosh on it when Trump secured the required number of delegates. Instead, he let it go on. His followers followed him hoping, and he may have been hoping too, that something would happen which would cause people to toss out Trump. They touted him as a principled conservative for sticking to his guns. Meanwhile, on the other side of the wire, you have all the people who voted for Trump and support Trump. That’s 14 million voters. What does Ted do? Does he betray the base who has been loyal to a fault to him to the point they are willing to lose the election without him? Or does Ted tell them to unite for a greater cause possibly gaining the respect of Trump voters for future elections? He created this monster that we saw play out on the convention floor. At this point, he wouldn’t get enough support to be elected in the primaries if Trump wasn’t in there in my opinion.

IF Cruz fails to endorse Donald Trump in his highly anticipated speech tonight, Trump should personally walk out to the podium, shake Cruz’ hand, and then say as forcefully (as only Trump can do) “Ted? If you were the nominee, I would have honored my pledge to endorse and support you, so who got to you? Was it Jeb Bush? Mitt Romney? Who got to you Ted?”

Then watch Cruz slink from the podium as the crowds roar.

Had Barry Goldwater been diverted from his quest for the nomination in 1964, and it had passed to Nelson Rockefeller, the fallout after the assassination of Kennedy would have been much different. Compared to Johnson, Rockefeller would have been seen as the continuation of the Kennedy legacy, but it would have a headlong rush to create the Uniparty some 24 years earlier than it finally came into being (with the nomination of Bush-41).

The diversion of Ted Cruz from the quest this time, probably preserved the opportunity to attack the Uniparty facade from a different angle. The Uniparty still has the means to marginalize Cruz, but they are at a loss as to what to do with The Donald.

Break the monopoly power of the Uniparty, and there shall once again be the opportunity to present a REAL conservative view of America. In 2024, Cruz shall still be only 54 years of age, a relatively young age to be serving as President. Of course, he COULD find himself in the position of being in line for the Supreme Court.

But at the moment, there is only one viable #NeverHillary in the running.

I was an early Cruz supporter before he went weird. If Hillary wins I do not think Cruz will do well in 2020. The bloom is off the rose. But he can establish himself as a tiger in the Senate and regain some respect.
_______________________________________________
That is one way of looking at Cruz. The other is that he never changed, never went weird, you just got to know the real Cruz over time. I believe those who knew him well were trying to describe his negative interpersonal qualities from the beginning. We just had to experience them for ourselves. Cruz's personality is sort of like the Hildibeast’s. The more you get to know him the more his likability goes down hill. I believe his main negative is his selfishness, which will likely be on display tonight. Everything he says and does is strictly a calculation for Cruz's future and interests and nobody else.

The PLEDGE matters and its time, TODAY, now that we have our Nominee, Donald J Trump, to roll call those PLEDGE signers. Those who would default should be dismissed from the RNC as LIARS and no different from HRC.

We have a Movement here that will prevail without those who have failed and have no integrity.

Congratulations Donald! Now lead us to VICTORY and take back the White House

If Cruz does not acknowledge his failure, his loss, and heartedly endorse Trump, he should and will leave the convention as a certified traitor, hopefully to never be accepted or elected ever again. He’s already crossed that line but Trump is apparently giving him more rope to hang himself. Good riddance Lyn’ Ted, sad we even briefly know you.
