Emergency Message for U.S. Citizens: Incirlik Air Base and Adana Airport Information, July 16
Be advised that local authorities are denying movements on to and off of Incirlik Air Base. The power there has also been cut. Please avoid the air base until normal operations have been restored.
Effectively, yes.
Not invaded. Surrounded with water and electricity shut off
In the last year of my enlistment(s). In 1976 when I was in the UK, I was told that I’d have to take extend my enlistment and tak another Consecutive Overseas Tour (COT)to somewhere in Turkey for what they called a “short tour” if I wanted to get promoted.
This would have been the third COT I’d gotten. Actually 4th if you don’t count the 5 month intervening tour in CONUS between OCONUS tours. Just over 8 years and 6.75 of them were overseas.
I told them to go f@ck themselves; I’m getting out. BEST THING I EVER DID. Turkey? I knew too many guys that had been to remotes in that country.
Incirlik is a Turkish base with American and other nations using it. It is not an “American” airbase:
His comment to my dad this morning was that this may be how obama is going to get the muslim brotherhood nukes now.
Will Obola-the-cryptoMoslem use this OPPORTUNITY
to transfer nukes and other technology to his
superiors in Iran? Like before?
Probably.
I was TDY at Incerlik when the '67 war broke out. The Turks immediately grounded all in and out traffic, same reason, didn't want us getting involved. Our 30 day TDY orders were extended indefinitely but fortunately the war was over by the end of the week.
Thanks for posting. BTTT!

Around 6,000 people have been detained so far, Turkish Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag told the state-run Anadolu Agency, adding that number is expected to rise.
They include Gen. Bekir Ercan Van, commander of the Incirlik Air Base, according to the Turkish President’s office. The United States uses the airbase to launch airstrikes on ISIS in Syria and Iraq.

Per various links on this feed, the Turkish commander of the base has been arrested, and the WH has asked for a news blackout while they talk to Erdogan about this MESS.
We may never get the full picture...certain to be covered up by this administration.
But it’s working: Kerry is coming to the view that we should extradite Erdogan’s chief opponent back to Turkey.
