I never know if there is a gun in the car, so it is a non-issue, I keep my mouth shut, and keep hands in sight and NOT moving. License is already on dash by the time the truck comes to a stop.
An ex-felon I know sticks both hands out the window past his elbows whenever he is stopped, and waits till he is told what to do. Perhaps he knows more than the average driver?
He should keep handcuffs in his car and throw himself to the ground already cuffed before the LEO even gets out of their car.
That's what I do. When the cop walks up, my left hand is out the window holding the papers, and right hand is also outside the window, so the cop sees both hands as he's coming up.
