bigger concern is that a lawful CCW would be shot

I can’t verify, but the pictures are interesting, as well as questions raised. I don’t know what happened during the shooting, but I hate the way it is being portrayed. Really dangerous stuff.
How do you know he was CCW?
My first thought was that it sounded like a hit. If the victim was crips, the cop could have been 13
White Hispanic?
CCW I assume is Concealed Carry Weapon, right? He announced it.
The gf’s video says he was a licensed CCW and was armed.
But did he really have a CCW permit?
It is not known what transpired before the tape started rolling. The cop sounds upset on the tape, so I say no to the hit theory.
The new clues given in the link raises many, many questions.
If he was a crip, and had a record, how could he have a CCW permit?
Here’s a scenario:
The guy robs a store at gunpoint. He gets pulled over and the GF notices that the cop sees the gun and announces the guy has a CCW permit to explain the gun. The guy goes for the gun and gets capped.
Or spend years working his way up in a school cafeteria.
He wasn’t a CCW holder. He was a gang member and fit the BOLO description of a suspect who had committed an armed robbery of a nearby convenience store days earlier.
Very tragic event but probably the fault of the poor dead guy. Officers are edgy for good reasons. The last thing you want to do is make an sudden movements. He should have froze until given instructions.
When stopped I always keep both hands on the wheel until given instructions.
And her narrative is taken as word, eh
White Hispanic?

It looks likes he did not. The girlfriend lied about this.
It also appears that Philando was a gang member with a long criminal record. He was possibly part of a recent armed robbery.

Looks like that story is starting to fray around the edges.
Both him and the GF are known crips.
