President Barack Obama wants more people to appreciate and visit America's national parks as the park system nears its 100th birthday in August.
Obama and his family spent the night at Yosemite National Park in California after touring an underground cave on Friday at Carlsbad Caverns National Park in New Mexico.
The president then gave a rousing speech at Yosemite that urged Americans to "get out into the great outdoors." He tapped Congress, thanking them for working to protect the parks.

Hussein wasn’t afraid of all of trees?
his methane emissions are contributing to the global warming of Yosemite Valley
Meanwhile, actual paying park goers had to wait for the royalty to pose for their photo-op vacation.
This damned idiot. Hogs up one of the busiest national parks, in mid-June. Vacations planned for months got F’ed up by his poor impulse control.
Cannot wait for him to be gone.
Traffic in Yosemite is nasty on a good day. I can only imagine what a cluster-—k it must be right now. This a$$ clown is always bollocksing up peoples vacation plans.
From what i saw he helicoptered in from a was away
Beat me by six seconds.
Wasn't moochelle recently bitching she felt like she was living in a cave?
I find that hard to believe. NBC would have had a headline condemning BHO’s lame-duck inconsiderate racist grandstanding to screw up whatever he can while he can.
Another vacation just like his mind.
Well this journalist said Obama visited an underground cave. I wonder if he could give me some examples of an above-ground cave? Just how stupid do you have to be to write for NBC?
Nice to have jets and helicopters.
For public servants and everything.
Or, in other words, Climate Change.
What an anus.
I guess that doesn't necessarily means he knows how the park's landscape was formed but at least whoever puts stuff into his teleprompter is at least somewhat aware of it.
Now, if he could only 'splain who is to blame for the climate that allowed such a large glacier to form in the first place.
I noticed that. But it is so prevalent now I try to ignore it.
Two guys fell into geysers within the past couple weeks.
Blah, that was Yellowstone. Still, there’s bears.

No kidding! Just tried unsuccessfully to get a trailer campsite anywhere in Yosemite for any three days in the remainder of this year. Getting a place in Yosemite Valley is now like winning the lottery.
Of course you’re right that those kinds of mistakes are so prevalent. But that one was just too much I couldn’t help myself, I had to say something.
