Washington, D.C. – Nevada Senator Harry Reid spoke on the Senator floor today calling on Republicans to join with Democrats to pass legislation preventing suspected terrorists from buying guns and explosives. Below are his remarks:
Here is a frightening quote from an Al Qaeda spokesman urging would-be terrorists to buy weapons here in the United States.
“America is absolutely awash with easily obtainable firearms. You can go down to a gun show at the local convention center and come away with a fully automatic assault rifle, without a background check, and most likely without having to show an identification card. So what are you waiting for?”
This is an Al Qaeda blueprint for would-be lone wolf terrorists. They are saying: Buy guns – nobody will stop you – and then go murder Americans.
That statement should make every member of Congress think long and hard about our nation’s gun laws.

You emphatically cannot buy a fully automatic weapon legally anywhere, any time, or under any circumstances without a background check. You have to pay $200 for a Federal license, and you have to undergo a background check to get a license.
Reid's dishonesty is entirely consistent with Stephanie Soechtig's fabricated "documentary" in which she claims her producer (if he exists) from Colorado "legally" bought guns in an Arizona parking lot without a background check. http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2016/06/stephanie_soechtigs_antisecond_amendment_documentary_fake_or_felony.html elaborates further. I reported "Under the Gun" to the Sundance Film Festival and also the American Journalists Association for journalistic misconduct, specifically presentation of a fake story as a news documentary. There is no way Soechtig's producer from Colorado, assuming he even exists, could have legally bought a gun in Arizona without a background check because all out of state transactions must go through a FFL dealer (who must perform a background check).
Obama said he wanted a national conversation about guns, but the fact that his camp lies repeatedly makes any kind of constructive conversation impossible.

This is why the government wants us to be attacked by terrorists and the mentally ill. They want to use it as an excuse to take away the rights of law abiding citizens who demand a law abiding government.
Terrorists are using our lax border enforcement and political correctness against us, because without those, they would never had accumulated to the numbers that make it possible to swim through the communities in which they thrive and go unreported by their neighbors.
When the concentration of Muslims in any community reaches a certain critical point (and the percentage is often VERY low), the “quaint” aspect disappears and a very different facet of their ideology emerges.

No, you can not go to a gunshow and buy a fully automatic weapon for any amount of money. You have to submit to a federal background check that takes more than 6 months now, and the prices start at about 20 thousand bucks.
But, you can walk into ANY congressman’s office with a sack of cash and buy him, and get all the special favors you could ever imagine. No background check, and no waiting period to buy a politician.
