The 'Never Trump' Third Party Candidate is...Conservative Writer David French?
Townhall.com ^ | 05/31/2016 | Guy Benson

Posted on 05/31/2016 7:41:18 PM PDT by Simon Foxx

And the grand reveal is...National Review writer David French? And it's not even confirmed? Don't get me wrong: French is a decorated Iraq war veteran, a strong writer, and a principled conservative whose stalwart commitment to religious liberty is admirable, even if one disagrees from time to time. He's also advanced eloquent, consistent and compelling arguments against both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton throughout the 2016 cycle. He's an impressive man. The impressiveness of his team -- if this presidential run ever actually comes to pass -- remains to be seen. But the notion that a relatively little-known writer could parachute into this race at such a late juncture and have a prayer of winning even a single state is, frankly, preposterous.

Your link doesn't work, but yes, he has now become the tagline for a lot of jokes...should he even do this stupid thing.

It is far to late to even get on all of the 50 states' ballots, nobody knows who this fool is, and worse.....nobody give a damn!

I’m a businessman. As a businessman you have to be nice to everybody.

Across the table from every corrupt politician is an equally corrupt person buying something from him or her. Trump freely admits he's that person. Saying "I'm a businessman" doesn't make it go away. Hard to feel good about that any day of the week.

“I would get on that cruise just to flaunt a Trump win and tell them how much they have missed the boat.”

That is indeed a very tempting idea...

Campaign donations to US political candidates are not bribes. They are perfectly legal.

(Unlike the millions that HRC has indirectly gotten from the Chinese, Indonesians, etc, etc, etc ...)

Hmm. He didn't say he was in Chicago... he said he'd had Chicago pizza. He could have had it shipped to him and cooked it in the convenience of his own oven.

The dish deepens...

I know it’s not in vogue these days but might it not be wise to wait to confirm that Mr. French actually IS running as a candidate before we decide that he’s in it to help Hillary and extrapolate his alleged actions to conservatives as a whole? In your worldview, is it NOT possible to be a principled conservative AND a Trump supporter?

Just about everyone on FR supporting Trump is a principled conservative. If this guy takes Kristol up on the offer, his principled conservatism is out the window because he will know the goal is helping the enemy.

That would be stupid, since UNO’s has a place right here in the Danbury Fair Mall, which is less than 30 minute’s from Sam’s house. :-)

Looks like an attempt to split the pro-life vote if you ask me. Kristol should be ashamed if that is at all possible anymore. See article from Lifenews, a conservative, pro-life publication:

Lifenews is solidly GOP establishment these days. They wildly cheer every beltway kabuki GOPe move. I don’t who is writing their checks but never a word negative about the GOPe from them.

So Billy Kristol (quasi intellectual comedian) contends he needs to leave the party to save the party. Kinda like ‘I was for something before I was against something’, or having a binder full of women. Kristol needs to register as a 527 working for Hillary - because that is exactly what will happen. So....Kristol supports the Democrats and Hillary by engineering a third party Independent candidate to some day save the GOP after 8 years of Hillary. Is there a straight line to this logic somewhere?

If French wasn’t “in” on this, then Kristol could and should be sued, by him, for publicly announcing this. Which leads me to believe that French is a horse’s arse, NOT a “conservative”, and should be made fun of and shamed as much as possible.

I’m also willing to bet that neither of them has donated tens of thousands of dollars to Hillary Clinton or the Clinton Foundation, unlike some candidates we know.

Just sayin’

And I’m willing to bet neither of their families has raked in millions from sleazy Goldman Sachs. Or preached their piousness while self admittedly giving none of those millions to charity.

Just sayin’.
