I discovered, while slow dancing at the 8th grade graduation dance, that girls were warm, soft and smelled good.

Thus began a lifetime of misadventures in the world of romance.

Things have changed considerably since I was in the 8th grade.

My Son went to a small, Christian high school. I thought it would more closely replicate my experience in high school than one of the large public high schools would.

The girls in his school were way different from what I remembered high school girls as being.

They were focused on getting ahead. They didn’t see the boys in their class as potential mates. They saw the boys as competitors for recognition and jobs.

No girl in my Son’s class would date a boy from their class. That would distract from their mission. And their mission was to get a scholarship so they could get a good job.

I think a lot of parents of girls are going to know the joy of bouncing their daughter’s checkbook on their knee.
