In an on-air interview with KVI-AMs morning host John Carlson in Seattle on Wednesday, presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump blasted the idea of so-called sanctuary cities, and said that as president, he would withhold funding from those cities.
He called such cities a haven for criminals.
We have to have law and order in our country, Trump said. We have no law and order. When you look at the people who are pouring in and the borders are so porous.
I want people to come into the country a hundred percent, he explained, but they have to come in legally. They have to come in through a process, and whats happening now is out of control. Its totally out of control.
During the 20-minute-plus conversation, Trump and Carlson covered many subjects including minimum wage, trade and airport security. The interview came more than a week after Trump held two rallies in the Evergreen State and on the morning after he was interviewed by Fox Newss Megyn Kelly, with whom he had a high-profile feud, which may have been put to rest during her special. He promised Carlson that he would not surrender the state but would fight for its votes as the election approaches.
This might go against prevailing conventional wisdom because Washington is considered a blue state likely to be carried by whoever the Democrat nominee is. Right now, it appears that Hillary Rodham Clinton will be that person, although Sen. Bernie Sanders trounced her in the March Democratic caucuses and beat her in Oregons primary.
Withholding federal funds from Seattle and other sanctuary cities will not go over well with the liberal administrations in those Democrat strongholds. Seattle, Portland, San Francisco and Los Angeles are all sanctuary cities, and they are dominated by Democrats. Seattle even has a socialist member of the city council.
We dont need sanctuary cities, Trump observed. We need strong borders.
We currently have a socialist President and two running for the office.
Re sanctuary cities attracting criminals, this was already posted by someone on another thread:

“Trump is clearly a liberal... /s”
I know.I was thinking the same thing. That and how he’s going to reverse himself on his major positions any minute now.
Lose funding my rear. Illegals and immigrants need to be removed from welfare programs.
Lose funding? That’s called 1st STEP.
They should be prosecuted for aiding and abetting illegal activity, defrauding taxpayer, harboring, etc.
IMO, he doesn’t go far enough (but he’s leaps and bounds above anyone else in the last 30 yrs. on illegal aliens).
Just my humble opinion though ...
Been saying this for awhile: Charge them as co-conspirators in every single crime a criminal, illegal alien commits.
Use that as a tool to personally, financially destroy the liberals that support these insane policies. Take a page right out of the Liberal's own playbook and use it against them.
That’s the opinion of a lot of people.
Trumps plan to balance the budget. Deny Federal money to progressive entities.
Obama threatens to withhold federal dollars from those who are opposed to his sex-muddled bathroom policy.
There is precedence, then, for withholding federal dollars from those who refuse to adhere to certain policies.
Sounds about right for the cost of US public school education yearly.

As well as a HECK of a lot of American citizens!

What is WRONG with you two?
There is no such thing as federal money or federal dollars. Those are OUR taxes!!!
Cut the funding and sue the cities, when one of their illegal protected felons harms an innocent American.
Then, allow the victims’s families to sue those responsible for these terrible crimes in civil courts.
Make them, personally/financially responsible for damages not the city they are supposedly representing.
Yes, they are our taxes. But in the real world, the federal government does control how some of them are spent.
In the real world, media is complicit in hiding the facts to obscure the source.
