I don’t mean to troll the Trumpers but I have to ask them, do you believe there is a strong possibility that this is all “schtick” to boost his brand?

Of course not...How could it boost his brand if he turns on the millions of supporters who believe him???

If it gets him the Presidency, his brand could not be any higher. He could do whatever and then revert back to his old gimmick for re-election. That is the exact same thing that the GOP leadership has done for decades now. If he loses, he can slap his name on many new products and know that his followers will buy everything he is affiliated with.
