Donald Trump launched his presidential campaign promising to build a border wall to stop illegal immigrants and Hispanic rights advocates say Republicans will now reap the pain of having him as their partys nominee.
Americas Voice, a leading immigration advocacy group, said Republicans are facing a moment of truth. Other organizations predicted that Hispanic voters will be eager to punish Mr. Trump for his rhetoric and the party as a whole for nominating him.
The Republican Party is about to run into a force more powerful than their hatred the power of the love of families and communities standing together, said Kica Matos, director of immigrant rights at the Center for Community Change.
On the other side are Hispanic Republican leaders who fear exactly what has come to pass. They say Mr. Trump has a lot of work to do even to get Hispanics in his own party to back him up.
I cannot support him, I cannot campaign for him, I cannot vote for him, Alfonso Aguilar, executive director of the Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles, told The Washington Times.
Having said that, I am taking a pause and just seeing how this evolves, and considering all the things that the country is facing, all the things that are at stake in this election I am willing to see if Mr. Trump evolves on a number of issues. I hope that he revises his views on immigration and if that is the case I would be willing to consider reconsidering my position, he said.
Hispanics are one of the fastest-growing demographics in the American electorate, and Republican nominees have lost a share of that vote in the past two presidential elections, from about 40 percent in 2004 to 31 percent in 2008 and 27 percent in 2012.

You are wrong!
It is up to the Mexican people to take their own country back, not coming here to steal ours.
If they would have ASKED for help, they may have gotten a better response.
Coming here and demanding we help them has not gained them any friends only deep seeded resentment and hatred. No more will we give them freebies!
It took 10 years to get ours here from India, the keyword is “LEGAL”
Yep, that works for me.
Anyway, at least the 75% or so who would never vote for anyone with an R after their name anyway . . .
this is the Hispanic version of German American Bund
“Punish” Americans when they live on our soil? Pack them up and send them home and tell them assimilation means they become Americans or they are toast. How dare they think they can come into our country and threaten us!!!
Go Trump. BUILD THE WALL!
Go figure.
I wonder how many ILLEGALS will be voting in the American election this fall?
” the power of the love of families and communities standing together,

It’s certainly not for love of country. Otherwise, they would respect our laws.
Besides, why didn’t they fight for their own homelands? Hard to respect such cowards.
“Hispanic” votes are utterly meaningless, if Trump can just increase the WHITE vote by 4.5% over Romney. That’s all he has to do. He’ll have the White MEN turn out in droves. But what will the stupid White WOMEN do? The ones who spread their country’s legs for Obama? Will they fall for Hillary’s gender lies?
They don’t want to be American;they want to be Mexicans.
Mexico City has many communists however that's a side effect of very high population density. We have that here too. Mexico is so poor though there is no chance of them funding USA-style socialism.
Mexico wont let them have a life a Mexicans and America wont let us have a life a Americans.
That’s the crux of it
We would get along fairly well with out politicians
The Mexican Gov has money falling out of their asses.
No reason for us to support Mexico, she is rich in natural resources.
truth in that
Someone needs to inform them of Mexico’s immigration laws, which are a wet dream for American conservatives. Things such as:
* wall on southern border (of Mexico)
* no immigration if Mexico’s demographic balance requires it
* can’t hire non-Mexican unless no one in the country meets the need
* citizen’s arrest of suspected illegal aliens
* very hard for legal immigrants to get citizenship
* can’t come without job or proof of income/assets, like retirees
* immigrants and visitors can’t own land near shore
* immigrants who engage in political activity are deported
* immigrants can’t be police, judges, hold almost any office or federal position
* Spanish only
ten years!!! Good Lord!
