Archbishop of Cologne Blasts Germany’s Anti-Islam Party: Churches ‘Same As Minarets’

The Cardinal Archbishop of Cologne, Rainer Maria Woelki (pictured), has publicly criticized leaders of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) political party for their statements against Islam, insisting that “whoever says ‘yes’ to church towers must also say ‘yes’ to minarets.”

The Cardinal was reacting in particular to recent statements by AfD deputy leader Beatrix von Storch, who told the Frankfurter Allgemeine newspaper: “Islam is in itself a political ideology that is not compatible with the constitution.”

“We are in favor of a ban on minarets, on muezzins and a ban on full veils,” said von Storch, who is also a member of the European Parliament.

In his videotaped response, Cardinal Woelki suggested that all religions are equally well suited to German culture and law. “The religion of Islam is compatible with the German constitution just as Judaism or Christianity are,” he said.

Meanwhile, no Christian Churches were built in any Muslim country, thousands were destroyed, and the genocide of Christians in the same Muslim countries continue.

God damn this “priest” to hell.

“Isn’t this catholic church just a front for one world government or some other form of socialism? “

No. It's just that people are flawed, and people populate all churches, all religions, all governments, etc. everywhere in the world. The church has had plenty of dark days, including some really flawed people in the hierarchy. But, the church also gave the world John Paul II. It is what it is.

The hakenkreuz (which we know as the swastika) and the hilal (Star and Crescent moon) are both symbols of authoritarian hierarchies, with total disrespect of all traditions of democracy and freedom. It has long been outlawed for the swastika to be displayed in Germany, and it should be as well for the Star and Crescent Moon.

What I mean to say, is that Islam is not really a religion at all, but an ideology similar to the Nationalist Socialist German Working-men’s Party. And nobody confuses THAT with a church or religion. There were brief attempts to tie Nazis with the Catholic Church, but that was on the order of a slander, and did not reflect reality in any way.

If the Nazis had any roots in religion at all, it would have been to the older pagan tradition of Druids and worship of Wodin, a celebration of a warrior society, which the leaders of the Third Reich fancied themselves to be.

This would be a much better analog of the world of Islam than any version of Christianity.

In the same sense that sacrifice your baby to the flames of Ba’al is the same as baptizing her.

Agreed. It's past time for Christians to purge alleged leaders who insult Christianity.

If this jerk is saying churches are the same as minarets and he is talking about the Eastern Seat of Christendom once anchored at the incomparable Hagia Sophia in Istanbul which the Muslims ravaged and turned into a mosque in 1453, he may have a point.

Now doubt the Muslim hordes have the same plan for his own marvelous cathedral - probably soon to be known as Die Neueste und Größte Moschee. I am sure the new minarets will be tall and grand.

They were also very chummy with the allies. Lots of North African Muslims fought for the Free French in Italy.

Some suspect heavy Masonic infiltration going back to the Vatican II years.

The same church that lead the successful defense of Europe against Islam well into the 1600s AD now kowtows. The world is certainly being turned upside down.
Regardless, the Islamic invasion of the West is being directed from the very highest levels of power. Most are behind the scene power brokers. Rockefeller, Rothschild, Soros etc. are the puppet masters.

I can understand a few flawed individuals with very wrong ideas. But, comparing Minerats to Churches goes against everything the traditional church stands for. Most of the church hierarchy seems to be infected with a tremendous lack of judgement.

Jesus and the “Allah” of the Quran have an extremely close connection. After Jesus spent 40 days fasting in the wilderness, he was tempted by Allah.

I can think of one or two mainline Protestant denominations with questionable leadership as well. Probably would be even a greater threat on the world stage if they in fact had international presence.

It seems all Catholic hierarchy are imbued with cultural and personal suicide wishes.

It just seems that way because the media are so happy to repeat stories about dopes like this archbishop. The majority of prelates are not this foolish — I hope, anyway. Prayers up for the Church.
