[…]

… “I’m not going to comment on what various different states are doing. Again, all of our committees that have jurisdiction in this area look at this issue. But it’s not my place to get involved in what each state is doing. To be quite honest, I’m not sure of what all of the details of those laws are.” …

Examples — and not literal to the point where their specific prophecies are letter perfect unto us.

Examples need contexts. Ceteris parabus.

Glibly hauling out Old Testament to berate letter for letter what wasn’t even called to be a theocracy seems mighty suspicious to me. But again I take the bible pretty seriously.

I agree, but I have a feeling that he used that because he was afraid of controversy if he revealed his beliefs on it. Our leaders are cowards. The Dems never back down.

So it’s OK for some states to go away from the “republican form of government” towards dystopian socialism, while others hold to it?

Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States. …
Goal #15 on the list that has nearly every goal checked off to date. I wonder just how seriously the list of communist goals was ever taken by the public.

The federal govment has jurisdiction over bathrooms. Don’t recall seeing that in the Constitution.

Not very. Whenever we told them the problem was marxists, people laughed at us. Called us conspiracy nuts and worse.

The Communists disdain to conceal their views and aims. They openly declare that their ends can be attained only by the forcible overthrow of all existing social conditions. Let the ruling classes tremble at a Communistic revolution. The proletarians have nothing to lose but their chains. They have a world to win. …
When Marx and Engels said that in their Manifesto, it is assuredly one thing that “internationalist” commies take literally and as dogma. They are as rabidly dedicated to world conquest as the Caliphatists, with whom they actually share a form of socialistic ideology.

Too bad not one of them has the loyalty to the Constitution to just say the truth, which is that a matter like this is and should be a matter for the states to decide. But that ship sailed long ago, with the left pushing to force sodomite mirage on every state.

But it’s not my place to get involved in what each state is doing. For once he gets something right.

Would have been better if he hadn't said it that way - should have said it's not the Federal Government's place - he opted to not say that he is fine with the Feds crapping on the 10th....

There’s one problem with that, that being this having less to do with the Tenth Amendment and more to do with the “republican form of government” clause of Article 4 section 2.

Since, as John Adams pointed out, the US “Constitution is made only for a moral and religious people (and) it is wholly inadequate to the government of any other”, letting state governments go socialistic (away from republican) undermines a union of states; but of course people like Ryan are just fine with the entire system going socialist.

I agree. The problem is getting the free people in the world to recognize the threat and act to fight it. Few listened when I was younger and fewer listen now.

Maybe Ryan likes straddling a fence post, if you catch my drift.
