Curt Schilling, a former All-Star pitcher and one of the highest-profile baseball analysts on ESPN, was fired from the network Wednesday, a day after he drew intense criticism for promoting offensive commentary on social media.
Schilling, who had worked for the network since 2010 and most recently offered analysis on "Monday Night Baseball," was dismissed after sharing a Facebook post this week that appeared to respond to the North Carolina law that bars transgender people from using bathrooms and locker rooms that do not correspond with their birth genders.
The post showed an overweight man wearing a wig and women's clothing with parts of the T-shirt cut out to expose his breasts. It says: "LET HIM IN! to the restroom with your daughter or else you're a narrow-minded, judgmental, unloving racist bigot who needs to die."
To that, Schilling added: "A man is a man no matter what they call themselves. I don't care what they are, who they sleep with, men's room was designed for the penis, women's not so much. Now you need laws telling us differently? Pathetic."

Curt should have known that Free Speech only applies to promoting leftist dogma if you're affiliated with that trash dump.
Cut the cable. Reclaim your life.
They're already there. The only reason they still broadcast is because their parent company has the muscle to hold the cable companies hostage with the rest of their offerings. ESPN is the most expensive channel on your cable bill. I tried to have it removed from my lineup and COX refused. When my contract with them is up I'm switching to Verizon or just pulling the plug all together.
If cable/satellite were allowed to let the consumer pick the channels they wanted, ESPN would sink like a rock. I don’t know they exact figure, but $5-6 of your cable bill goes to ESPN because of what they demand from cable providers.
And with that money, they’re able to outbid other competitors for most of the prime sports broadcasting contracts, all the while spewing their communist brainwashing and social engineering of sports.
Good point. Sports are about the only activity where women can’t compete on men’s teams and men can’t compete on women’s teams.
Yet they’re one of the biggest cheerleaders for transgender whatever.
Let’s make this fair. Why can’t transgenders compete on the teams of the sex they identify with?
OMG! What a stupid cave in post. He should stay fired for being such a pussy/wimp.
It’s only the “EXTREME” transgender, Muslim, gay, crossdresser people that he has a problem with. Other than that, he loves them. They are all his friends. It’s one big happy transgender, Muslim, gay, crossdresser family. How sweet. Kurt, would you trust your young boys and girls with these people? You would? FOOL!
Have some BALLS for crying out loud!
But if you deny a wedding cake to a person for a leftist politically charged reason....your 1st amendment rights Do not count.
It has to be one or another.
For some reason, most people don’t get that.
As for Schilling, I’d have more sympathy if he wasn’t a taxpayer-teat sucking con artist to the tune of $75 million.
I remember when MTV used to play music videos. Looks like we are on our way to saying I remember when ESPN was a sports channel.
Can there be something that isn’t driven by the liberal agenda?
Guess I’ll go back to watching BBQ Pitboys on youtube. All they do is drink beer and cook meat.
Boycott? If anyone gave a crap, all these companies that threatened Georgia and North Carolina wouldn’t have. But no one cares.
ESPN proved his posting correct.
What about being offensive to us who find this repulsive and dipownright scary?
Not sure how to take your post.
I of course was kidding about having people drop their pants for penis examination before being allowed to enter sex (the word is NOT gender) specific bathrooms.
I guess I can see how my post could have been misconstrued to seem that I was supporting this stupid transgender bathroom policy. I assure you I am not.
I think we could tell that the guy in that photo was not really a woman. We wouldn’t have to check his junk. Also within groups everyone would know who these people (YES, I said “these people”) are. For those unknown and less obvious, I guess we just wouldn’t know, unless they use the urinal.
We are talking about such a miniscule group of people that we shouldn’t even consider their wishes. We have become a MINORITY rules society.
As far as the Nazis go, I didn’t know they did that. I am more offended that they put Jews in concentration camps and ovens. I really don’t see it as analogous.
A lesbian, a homosexual, and a transgender! That's diversity!
The Bill of Rights only protects against government action. Therefore, there is no right of free speech in a private company.
Fixed.
In related news, the Pittsburgh Penguins’ Kris Letang slams the NY Rangers Viktor Stalberg with a dirty hit, knocking out 3 of his teeth and nearly taking his head off. No punishment.
At the same time the Chicago Blackhawks’ Andrew Shaw is suspended one game. His offense? Hollering a “homophobic slur” during a game.
