Unfortunately, that seems to be the way a lot of people vote.

I’ve had people, including some long time registered Republicans tell me that they only vote in the general election and only in presidential election years and that they don’t bother voting in the primaries. In the general they may vote for a senatorial or congressional candidate if one is up for election or re-election, but only along party lines and without knowing or caring anything about them.

And as some have also told me, they don’t bother voting for any of the local candidates like for county or state representatives or for county judges, AG, etc., nor do they vote on any state ballot initiatives or just vote on them straight “yes” or straight “no” because, as some have actually told me, “it just takes too much time to do all that research so I just skip over that part”.
