When I saw this, Im starting to wonder if cooler heads are starting to prevail in the back rooms of the GOP.
If Trump supporters bolt the November election, because they feel they were screwed at the convention, it will affect more than just the presidency. GOP Senators, congressmen, governorsEVERY contest down the line will be in jeopardy due to low GOP turnout. They may have decided their options are:
1) lose the presidency with non-Trump AND lose the down ballot contests
2) lose the presidency with Trump, but win the down ballot contests
Running off part of your base over the presidential nominee has bigger ramifications than just the presidential election.
As has been pointed out, the GOP establishment could live with a Hillary presidency. What the cant live with is losing everything else: the senate, the house, governorships, etc...
It will be fun watching VP nominee Kasich doing a Spiro Agnew imitation as Trump's attack dog.
Hmmm OK ahhh could you point out where I said anyone who beats Trump is a thief?
And when you can't be man enough to apologize.
All I noted it that if THIS is they way it is now or is how it is always been in the RNC (Back room deals choose the Candidate in the primaries and caucuses instead of the voters) then I will strive from now on to destroy the Republican party.
Like I noted in that other thread I never remember in all the other elections I have participated in Delegates getting awarded to candidates other than the primary or caucus winner and such has only happened in recent elections that I remember. And Like I say IF that is the way it has always been or if it is how it is now then either way I will strive to destroy the Republican Party. And if that lovely day every comes on the next morning I will set my sights on the other half of the Uniparty.
The GOPe should have never went Full Obama and let that CubaCanadianConJob run on the (R) ticket for POTUS...
Guys, this is politics 101.
ANY candidate with 1100 committed delegates MIGHT pickup another 200 or 300 before the first ballot.
How many times is this going to posted?
The guy already walked it back, clarified, and it’s a nothing burger.
Rope-a-dope
there will be numerous uncommitted delegates
that can vote any way they feel.
suppose Trump gets 1100.
he needs 137 more from uncommitteds
what about that don’t people get?
Now they’re just throwin’ out Trump-bait.
Now that I was able to vote for Trump in the Republican primary in Florida, I’m changing my status to “independent”. I’ve had enough of the Republican/Uni-Party!
if Trump gets 90-95 percent of the delegate total... then it would be ridiculous and have no precedent if they did not give him the nomination.. 10 percent would be 124 votes or 1237-124=1113
Two really big things happened that changed the election and really freaked out the RNC.
The unrelenting national coverage of the Colorado delegate situation and the doubling-down by the RNC on it - calling their organization and private corporation that can do what it wants.
Cruz looking like a fool in the Bronx and not standing up for himself or his policies when some Hispanic rapper started yelling in his face. He’s a Texas candidate and doesn’t not translate on a national level.
if he gets other uncommitted delegates to vote for him..They are not going to give it to him..
