As a child of the 60’s, I recognize that jello ad. Urp!
The problem is this raising the minimum wage is not about helping poor people, its simply about Government control.
What the Government controls rarely works as designed.
The wage is not the only thing employers provide in entry-level positions, and recognizing and acknowledging this is usually ignored, yet so critical to the discussion.
Here’s what these jobs provide that our local schools do not, for free:
One learns to show up. Show up on time. Show up on time dressed properly. Show up on time, dressed properly, ready to cooperate with others toward a common goal. If not, one learns consequences.
One learns hard work pays, or one loses one’s job. One learns if one doesn’t perform satisfactorily, one will be replaced by someone who can and will. One learns life is competition.
It is in these jobs that our young “unlearn” all the wrong lessons taught now in our schools.
with the right setup.
1 person can do all 3 jobs.
“wait... steamed squares of meat with 5 holes in them use to be quality?”
I grew up one block away from a White Castle - I love them. As kids, we used to say those 5 holes in the meat were made by the horse show nails...
Horse shoe nails! Shoe!!
You’re not getting COLAs for Social Security because the biggest population is aging into Social Security.
Welcome to socialism.
It never has in the past... and they have to keep raising it...
Funny thing, White Castle was founded in Wichita, Ks, but they no longer have a presence there. They haven’t as l9ng as I can remember.
Used to be able to get my grandson a junior bacon cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo, cheese and 3 slices of bacon with a small frosty for $2.09 at Wendy’s. Stopped there Friday after many month’s absence. They now charge extra for the lettuce, tomato, onion and cheese and the burger only has one slice of bacon. Cost has risen to $3.89. Located in Houston suburbs and I doubt if the hamburger flippers are getting $15/hour.
“These geniuses just protested themselves out of the only jobs that they may be qualified for.”
But does any liberal care? Of course not. They know the workers can go on welfare and not have to go to work every day.
I think it is a law that you have to be drunk to go to a White Castle.
Nothing worse than White Castle farts. Makes Taco Bell farts smell like a tropical breeze.
They came to Kansas City in the 80’s, then closed in the 90’s to my dismay. They merged with a chicken franchise towards the end which brought a really good jalapeno popper to the menu. Open a white castle, apply one jalapeno popper, squish and eat, pure heaven with a dash of cardiovascular disease.
OOPs!.That should be $0.65 / hour!
If I had made $1.65 and hour I’d have been THE MANAGER!...................DISTRICT!....................
You have to be drunk to eat White Castle the first time, once you are hooked, you can eat them sober.
I forgot about WC gas, you are correct, possibly the most potent odor emitted by the human body while still at room temperature.
Luk 11:46 And he said, “Woe to you lawyers also! For you load people with burdens hard to bear, and you yourselves do not touch the burdens with one of your fingers.
I was in metro Atlanta - Decatur Georgia to be exact at that time. $1.00/hr at McDonalds, and $1.40 at Krystal. The work at McDonalds was less abusive. The old lady at the Krystal just used me as a slave, IMO.
Because the democrats don’t care. Really they don’t.
The local constabulary will sit outside the White Castle waiting for the drunks to pass through the drive up window at 2:30 a.m., which is exactly a half hour after closing time at the bars. However, I don’t know how they can truthfully say they noticed “the odor of alcoholic beverages” when there’s a sack of sliders and onion chips in the car.
But then again, they did see the driver at the White Castle at 2:30 in the morning.
How many time I tell Godzilla don’t go outside with no pants Gee louize Godzilla you are not skinny ab movie star from the 1950s honey LOL!
