True. The reality is, in a general election, likability is tre importante. And in that department Ted Cruz comes up way short.

And that is one of the biggest differences between the real Ronald Reagan, and the putative "next Ronald Reagan", ted Cruz. Reagan was truly likeable, and neither Cruz nor Trump come even close.

Consider the alternatives. I didn't LIKE Goldwater or Nixon, but to vote for the RAT candidate was not an acceptable option. I don't especially LIKE Trump or Cruz, but I do LIKE some of their ideas and attitudes. And a vote for the criminal Clinton or the Commie Sanders is not acceptable.
