A quick count was 950,000 Democrats voted, and 1,050,000 Republicans voted. Cruz was at about 519,000 votes, and Trump was at something like 376,000 votes, and Kasich had about 151,000 votes.
The gap increased to almost 100,000 votes between the two parties, with 99% counted.
I mentioned up thread that the attack by Trump on Walker was a tactical mistake. Add in the fact that this is Priebus and Ryan turf, and add in the self inflicted Trump miscues, plus the 24/7 (nonstop) attacks by the press- to include radio, television and print, and you’ve got the perfect storm. The fact that Trump got any delegates is the good news. ON TO VICTORY!
I agree attacking Walker was a mistake. But I think they thought they could shut him out there. Rinse, Walker and Ryan own Wisconsin.
Trump taking Ryan’s hometown of Janesville was a little thorn that will stick.
ONWARD AND UPWARD!!
The trump campaign had about as bad a two weeks before an election as you can have.
New York is where the rubber meets the road. If Donald gets 50% or more Wisconsin never happened.
I also wonder, with the fewer Dim votes, was there some sort of reverse Operation Chaos going on....orchestrated by the Three WI Amigos. Where did those votes go? It’s as contested of a Dim race as it was last time.
You never know!!
