Heidi and Ted live 1500 miles apart - this is no real marriage. Its a political partnership. Clearly, political ambition is the glue holding the “family-image” together for our viewing pleasure.
Further, Ted is merely deflecting by directing blame to Trump despite months of rumors ..#TheThing. Ted’s catastrophizing of Trump’s purported “threat (which was no threat) tells me he likely knew it was coming.
You know, it occurs to me that Cruz and company were eager to find a way to blunt the full force of this scandal. They almost certainly knew that National Enquirer was ready to publish soon since the alleged sexual partners were supposedly contacted by NE. So the Cruz camp had advanced warning. Maybe they figured that the semi-nude picture attack ad on Melania would anger Trump and that he would hit back. What surprised them, perhaps, is that Trump hit back with something fairly harmless: "lay off my wife or I'll spill the beans on Heidi". Nothing outrageous about that comment at all -- though Cruz and the media certinaly played it up to the hilt -- "It's an OUTRAGE!" But notice: because this back and forth controversy was already in progress, it served as a convenient way to deflect the full bore of the scandal. Cruz is now pretending that Trump is somehow at fault for the NE story and that it's merely a continuation of the "unfair" on-going personal fight RE: Melania and Heidi. So making this connection partially blunts the devastating charge that a trusTED, Bible-waving Christian man is not as pure as he makes himself out to be. Unfortunately, linking these two separate events is a big stretch -- and a big logical non sequitur. Does this line of argument make any sense? |
