The NFL has issued a warning to Georgia over that state legislature’s advance of a so-called “religious-freedom” bill that protects same-sex marriage opponents from discrimination lawsuits, saying the measure, if approved into law, could impact where future championship games are played.

“NFL policies emphasize tolerance and inclusiveness and prohibit discrimination based on age, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, or any other improper standard,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said, CBS News reported. “Whether the laws and regulations of a state and local community are consistent with these policies would be one of many factors NFL owners may use to evaluate potential Super Bowl host sites.”

WTF? Well, we know how this will play out. The state will cave out of fear of lost revenue. Money beats integrity far too often. Will the Ga. gov sack up and tell the nfl to shut up and do what the know(?) best. Hey nfl.......stay out of politics.

I'm afraid he will. He doesn't stand for re-election. He's a former democrat turned gop-lite.

He's even balking at signing a campus carry bill now.

I had a feeling as I was watching Peyton winning the Super Bowl that it just might be our last one.

I think we’re at “peak NFL”

Their $40 million per year bureaucrats are worried about “gay” issues in States, meanwhile, every year, fewer kids are playing the game and High School teams are folding due to lack of interest.

President-in-waiting-Trump should take the opportunity to tell the NFL to stop. They have no business even commenting on a bill, let alone threatening economic sanctions, that provides a safe harbor to religious people exercising their 1st Amendment right to freedom of religion. It’s the 1st Amendment fercryinoutloud. Shut up NFL!

How ‘bout: As long as the NFL has a govt provided monopoly, you keep your nose out of politics.

Bad enough the collusion WITH govt when it comes to taxpayer $$ when it comes to stadiums, maintenance, concessions, parking, etc.

I think the NFL ceases to exist as a traditional football league 10 years from now.

Political correctness and the concussion issue, and the pussification of the American male will all contribute to its demise.

The Left has set the trajectory. The NFL thinks appeasement will save it.

It will be replaced by soccer—because it’s “safer, “less violent”, more “civilized”.

Besides, someone has to pay for all these stadiums!

What Does the NFL have to do with Our Peach State anyways ???

This Religious Freedom Act is NOT about The FALCONS but about Christian/ Catholic ministers here in Georgie Who do Not Want to be compelled by "law" to perform any of these abominable acts that degenerate people call Same-sex "marriage".

Proves more and more that the NFL is operated by Thugs-in-3-piece-suits.

They do not like Our State laws, then do not offer their ticket-scalping franchise here.

And this is why I gave up on the league years ago. They are nothing more than another cog in the wheel of moral slide.

"I think we’re at “peak NFL”"

Actually, that was about two years ago for me.

As an alternative 7-man Rugby is pretty cool.
