I posted this to my site and also sent it to the Cruz campaign. I doubt he will see it...but one can always hope.
well said
Jeff, that is priceless.
yep....
I think your request will ultimately be followed. Power is the driving force and Cruz allied with Trump will take the power.
The decision for Cruz is “what is my place going forward in this new world? What do I really want?”
Once he decides, it is his for the asking.
I seriously doubt that Trump will accept any limitation or constraints upon his ego.
I hope you sent him a different version than that...
Try re-reading the letter with a couple of changes. Every place it says Cruz, read Trump. Every place it says Trump, read Cruz. Then ask yourself if it makes you feel exactly the same way afterward. I am betting it will not and you will be upset with me for suggesting it.
One more to add...
We need him in the Senate now to stop any attempt of our squishes from letting Obama's SCOTUS nominee go forward. Schumer is already nudging them in that direction, and I do not trust McConnell's backbone. We are headed into summer, the same time of the year GWB tried the Dubai Ports deal and Harriet Meir's which were equivalent to this Obama disaster, I say nyet.
However in my request, I can't see him also running in the V.P. slot and basically staying in Disney on the Potomac and running the block. Please tell me where I am wrong or my logic is flawed...
Well stated. Wondering if this might very well be the plan.
Billionaire @GeorgeSoros who backs @HillaryClinton just gave #Cruz camp $250K to fight #Trump. Get the message?
Not a bad letter at all, but honestly, I don’t think Cruz should be on the ticket at this point. The deal should involve some other role in the administration. If Cruz is on the ticket, there are just too many associations he has made in this campaign that make him general election poison. I’m talking the Glenn “Stabby” Beck and Kevin “Kill the Gays” Swanson types.
Also, Cruz is a uniparty candidate. He did not care one lick about the middle class until he saw it was working for Trump. People claim Trump plays to racists because of his positions on immigration. That is false, he just acknowledges that white and black blue collar workers alike have suffered under globalism, and he seeks to address the problems.
But here’s a problem with Ted Cruz: He never favored a pathway to citizenship for illegals, because he does not want them to vote (they would mostly vote Dem) or collect benefits, which I don’t disagree with. HOWEVER, in 2013, he argued very passionately that he was all for 11 million of them getting legal permanent residency. This would still allow them to work and still keep the globalist gravy train running. He only now says he’s against this because he’s copying the Donald, and should he get to the point where he’s not campaigning anymore, he’s going to go right back to his globalist agenda.
His wife is a cheap labor globalist, and so is he. No amount of posturing will ever convince me otherwise. The Gang of 8 bill only failed because Eric Cantor got primaried. It had nothing to do with Cruz and at the time he was in complete favor of passing it until Cantor got the boot. He doesn’t fool me.
Sheik Ilderim: Balthasar is a good man. But until all men are like him, we must keep our swords bright!
Judah Ben-Hur: And our intentions true!
“The key with Donald Trump is whether or not he will do them in the long run.
If nominated, we need to make sure he will continue to push them. If elected we need to make sure he will do them.”
How will we make sure he will do them? We elected the majority in Congress and they are doing, in many cases, the opposite of what we want them to do, or even what they should do.
How do we make that work?
Great read Jeff, thanks for sharing it here.
I would prefer that he remain in the Senate rather than VP. He would be better positioned to keep Trump in check as a Senator than VP.
Cruz needs to unseal his records. Show us his CRBA & passport.
My fear is Ted is already moving to the dark side. When you consider after the Sea Island CONfad he hired Neil Bush as his campaign finance manager, Gramham and Beck have endorsed him
