Breaking: Cruz Negotiating With Trump for VP Spot

A high ranking Cruz campaign official has told Elect Leaders that Sen. Cruz is in negotiations with Mr. Trump to become his Vice Presidential Nominee after Rubio dropped out Tuesday. Sen. Cruz has been the most consistent performer in primaries behind Trump. They are seeing the writing on the wall and want to negotiate from a point of strength which will evaporate over time.

The official stated Mr. Trump is interested in using Sen. Cruz’s ground game in the general election, likes his appeal to the conservative base and his stance on immigration. Of the other options for VP none hold as strong of an opinion on immigration outside of Governor Jan Brewer from Arizona who is also being considered.

Senator Cruz in exchange for his support is wanting to be named to the Supreme Court if an opening occurs while Mr. Trump is president. Mr. Trump does not see this as an issue and a small price to pay to bring Sen. Cruz his fundraisers, donors and staff on board

Not sure about Cruz as VP, but starting today I will no longer post negative about Cruz. Even if I think it.Folks we need every vote. Time to unite. Trump will be nominee. Not admonishing or reprimanding, just stating what I will do.

Cruz is eligible. If Trump gets the nomination may as well hand the White House over to Hillary during Trumps acceptance speech.

Cruz was right. Cruz wasn’t talking about 1st Amendment rights per se’. He was talking about leadership and accountability. Leaders are responsible for the tone they set and the message they convey. Trump tells his people to rough up those that disagree with him and he’ll cover legal fees. Of course, he’s backing away from that now...but he did say it. We must set the example for a respect for the rule of law, because we know that the Left will not do that.

By the way, Sen. Cruz was clear that the protesters were very much wrong for their conduct too....those like you who whine about Criz critique of Trumpaloompa seem to gloss over that.

Col. Allen West is one of my top choices. I’m not ruling out Mike Huckabee because he isn’t going away. Every so many days there’s a quote out on him backing some topic dealing with Donald. He hasn’t gone away. He seemed to have been popular on his Fox show. Not all in with him but his character traits are in line with Donald on comfortable with people.

I don’t want to unite the party. The party is the problem, run by the stooges of the globalist oligarchy! I want to unite the voters, to throw the establishment sell-out bastards where they belong, in obscurity.

Their affair, from 2014, has been rumored.

News to me.. Wonder who is holding back to drop this 'bombshell'? All I keep hearing from the 'church ladies' is how many women trump has bedded. This will not sit well with the 'church ladies' if true.

The only part of this that sounds screwy to me is Cruz running as VP then getting appointed to SCOTUS. Then Trump would have to get another VP. Teddy needs to cut his deal and make up his mind which position he wants. If I were him I’d cut a deal for a guarantee of assuming Scalia’s spot. He’s really best suited for a jurist job. Politics is not a good place to have a sucky personality.

“Donald Trump is brilliant, Ted Cruz is not.

You got that exactly back-asswards.”

Both of you are wrong about this.

Both Ted Cruz and Donald Trump are brilliant, but in different ways. Ted Cruz is a brilliant lawyer, politician, and Constitutionalist.

Donald Trump is a brilliant businessman, deal maker, promoter, entertainer, and patriot.

The combination of the two would be a tremendous powerhouse.

Sorry Greg, but you struck out there.

Trump made two or three comments in nine months.

Countless times he urged his followers to be nice to the people being ushered out. Do you address that? No. You pick the two or three times...

Why did he say what he said two of those times?

1. A protester was swinging at Trump supporters, so he said to deck the guy. Who wouldn’t?

2. A rumor had been told to Trump that someone was going to try to toss tomatoes at him. He urged the crowd to be on the lookout, and clobber anyone trying it.

On another occasion Trump did address how violent protesters would have been treated in times past. IMO, that’s how they should be treated now too. I don’t support what went on last Friday night.

This is what you consider to be wishing ill on all his protesters?

Get with the program and quit being such a media nancy boy on this issue.

We're supposed to believe that Trump wants Cruz's "fundraisers and donors" on board?

WHy?

Actually Cruz brings lots of conservative votes to the ticket which Trump needs. Trump has a swath from the other demographics. The only thing Cruz doesn’t bring is many GOPE votes, he will bring some but not that many. More importantly Cruz brings a ground game to the ticket which Trump needs because the RNC is going to be as useless as tits on a boar because they have been castrated by a Trump nomination and possible presidency. The GOPE will take their marbles and go home after years of lecturing conservatives about being team players and voting for their beloved Party.

Because impurist RINO tickets have done so well at winning. 1932, 1936, 1940, 1944, 1948, 1960, 1976, 1992, 1996, 2008, 2012.

So you think Trump is a RINO, like the folks at the top of all those tickets? I mean, that's fine if you do. I think he is.

But I thought the premise of this particular thread was that Trump was acceptable, so we're discussing VP's.

“Something happened. We may never know. But the switch was flipped.”

Kind of obvious what happened. Cruz was rising fast in the polls, and posed a threat to the nomination. Pure power politics.

A Trump/Cruz ticket would be exactly the same. Pure power politics.

Just because it is power politics does not mean that it cannot be used for the good of the country.

“Cruz is ineligible, Rubio ineligible”

According to the GOP they are which suits or purposes at convention.
Trump can select another after if need be.
