“I firmly believe Trump will never get over the things Cruz has said about him.”

I fail to recall where Cruz called Trump slimy, sleazy, nasty, cheating, biggest liar he’s ever known. But just close your ears and sing la la la really loud and reality goes away.

Yeh Cruz wasn’t a judge but a lawyer so good enough. Look at all those drecks in black robes on SCOTUS who were judges lotta good that does a nation when they rip up the Constitution. Having Cruz replace Buzzy Ginsburg requires a zero brain power decision.

He’s a lawyer who argued before SCOTUS numerous times.

There’s probably no judge MORE qualified than Cruz to be a CONSERVATIVE ORIGINALIST justice.

Wrote this two days ago when KellyAnne Conway remarked that the gop-e went crawling to Cruz and not the other way around. Her remark was proof I’d been waiting for...

Just occured to me.. this is the first defense/explanation for the hiring of Team Bush which was fatal for me and Cruz thought it was no big deal. Does team Cruz seem nervous, worried? No.... because Trump/Cruz really did make a deal so the results both teams want are a done deal, the two men really ARE going to take out the gop-e. Cruz got stuck with the good-cop role. That’s why neither side apologizes for anything: they’ve rigged the election.

After Cruz’s debacle regarding the Chicago melee, “OH HELL NO!”

He’s not fit to sit on the SCOTUS.

If nothing in the constitution prohibits it, which nothing does, then a sitting VP can be nominated to the Supreme Court. I'd guess such a VP could even retain his VP spot until the confirmation hearings are completed.

Nobody has contemplated something that crazy before. The whole scheme makes no sense at all.

And then the VP could smoothly move over to the Supreme Court, and be smoothly replaced by some other cabinet member, such as the Secretary of Energy, or something.

Congress has a say in that.

Cruz would have to swallow all the lies he’s told about Trump. And Trump would have to accept. I can see that happening - Trump calls that kind of thing “politics”. I’m not sure Ted looks at it the same way - I think he actually believes the lies he tells. That’s my opinion.

Cruz is LBJ again. Don’t kid yourself.

Just when you think the Internet can't get any stupider, you come across a nugget like this.

“Noooo! Rafael is ineligible to be VP! Dont do it Donald!!!!”

Exactly my thought. Don’t give the GOPe and the dems an excuse to invalidate the Trump ticket.

Cruz can just as easily drop out now in exchange for a possible SC nomination down the road. He doesn’t need to fill the VP slot.

VP is also a serious pathway to the presidency, especially for a young, aggressive candidate like Ted Cruz.

It would do a great deal to overcome Cruz’ executive experience lack.

Suppose Trump turns the country around and does a Reagan.

Cruz has a very good chance at the Presidency in 8 years.

Trump lacks Constitutional experize, but is known to hire the best to advise him. Cruz is right up there as one of the best.

I agree. Trump will “defend” himself quickly when attacked but has nice words to say about them all otherwise. He has repeteadly talked about how tough running for President can be. I think he secretly admires Cruz “hard work” at building a campaign even when DC hates Cruz. If destroying the old elite is the goal..............

And then on to Hillary, the troll at the bridge.

LOL. Now THERE's an image I can easily bring up!

She's not there, kid! She's out campaigning!

I still won’t vote for trump.

"...you’ll probably have lots of company if you leave as we will not be tolerating fools who say they won’t vote for whichever of these guys wins the nomination. As far as I’m concerned, this election is for all the marbles and you’re either with us or against us. Decision time is fast approaching."

I won’t support that ticket. Cruz sucks. He will bring Trump down.

AGAIN, it doesn’t matter what Trump has said.

Have none of you watched Celebrity Apprentice over the years???

I would be very interested in what Penn Jillette says about Trump reacting to perceived slights.

Trump will never get along with Cruz again. That is my opinion.

True but Cruz messed that one up hoping to score victories over Trump with more voters--- epic fail but chalk that up to bad political ploy. As a SCOTUS pick Cruz would have no reason to veer off course like that.

That would be poetic revenge...unleash that nasal droning voice on the rest of the Justices (sorry Alito, Thomas). Ginsburg would really fall into eternal sleep...

As to USSCt, that would require...Senate confirmation. I’m thinking Ted’s chances in any position requiring Senate confirmation are pretty slim.
