Martha asked Eric this a.m. about taking donations for the general and will probably need $1 billion for it. Eric said they hadn’t discussed yet.
Couldn’t Trump even accept donations but no donations over the federal limit (is it $2,500/per person) and he doesn’t want any money from lobbyists, etc. He could include a disclaimer that he appreciates everyone’s assistance with the donation but everyone needs to understand in no uncertain terms that any donations do not require him to meet in private with anyone, nor will he be persuaded or coerced into doing any special favors nor going against his principles (you get the gist of what I’m trying to say - he has really good lawyers that could draft appropriate language).
