I read a book that treated this as a cold case. The interesting theory was that Henry Tudor had the boys eliminated to solidify his hold on the throne. Theory felt that although the boys were considered bastards, people would rally to them threatening Henry’s future.

Actually, there were two pretenders who bedeviled Henry 7’s early reign. The most important is Perkin Warbeck who bore a strong resemblance to Edward IV. Henry 7 systematically murdered most of the Plantagenet line with his son completely finishing them off. Warbeck was horrifically tortured before being murdered.
