“Conservatism” would seem to mean nothing to most of these kind souls, who fall metaphorically on their knees to worship a Man on a White Horse, a Dear Leader who will solve our complex problems with his magic elixir of insults, profane bullying and a skilled bluster he has perfected via years of acting on “reality” TV.

Exactly. To the Trump supporters here, merely having conservative principles means one is GOPe. And heaven forbid one should have social conservative or traditional religious principles!
