Newt Gingrich: GOP Establishment 'Living in Fantasy Land' Over Trump
Newsmax ^ | 22 Feb 2016 | Sandy Fitzgerald

Donald Trump is "far and away the front-runner," for the GOP presidential nomination and the establishment is "living in a fantasy land," by denying that big changes are happening, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said Monday.

"Trump is tapping into something in the country that's real," Gingrich told Fox News' "Fox & Friends" program.

"If you take Trump's vote and Cruz's vote and Carson's vote -- the three outsiders -- they are once again at about 62 percent in South Carolina, and they have been consistently above 60 percent everywhere in the country. If you pull together all of the insurgents, there's a message there."

Further, Gingrich said that Trump is by far the party front-runner, and the real tests are coming for Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz to win primaries in their own home states.

"He has vastly more delegates," Gingrich said. "Can Rubio win Florida? Right now Trump is winning Florida. How well does Cruz do in Texas? Trump is a national player and he's strong everywhere."

I think Trump was talking about it twenty years ago. For years, he said he didn’t want to run, and would do so only if he thought he had to.

I wonder if anyone in the GOPe has figured out that much of the anger across the spectrum can be directly attributed to Haley Barbour and Sen Cochran’s fiasco two years go.

That may be so, but Trump has taped into the FU vote. I bet that was the vote Cruz wanted, but unlike Trump he’s not willing to call people liar, pussy, looser, ect. Americans are a vulgar people and will support a vulgar man every time! Sadly the country I love is making the same mistake Germany made in the 20’s, voting for a vulgar, populist blowhard for exactly the same reasons. I hope this nation can survive it!

The stunning primary defeat of Eric Cantor.

The Mississippi Senate race.

The upheaval on the Speaker vote for Boner.

The dumping of Boner.

The pre-emptive dumping of McCarthy.

The Trump/Cruz/Carson phenomenon.

If they don't get it by now, they're NEVER going to get it.

Says the poster who just recently stated that any who don’t follow Trump are traitors.

Ridiculous to be sure.

There are a lot of democrats just as pissed off because the democrat party has thrown working people overboard to make more room below decks for cheap labor and more space for the elite to play shuffleboard on the main deck.

Trump could get a ton of democrat votes just like Reagan did.

“Idiots like Erickson and the GOPe will never learn!”

And what about all those here on FR who proclaim if their candidate doesn’t get the Republican nomination that they will stay home?

I was thinking about this and figure, based upon what has been posted over the last few months, is that there will be very few FR poster showing up at the polls in Nov.

I just caught Gingrich being interviewed by Hannity. He was reeling off a list of descriptions about what Trump is. He said Trump is your guy if “you want nationalist, populist, anti-pc, anti-internationalists”, etc.

Where does that leave Cruz and Rubio, the ones who voted for TPA?

What Gingrich listed is what will save the country.

“Polls show both Cruz and Rubio beat Trump in head to head match-ups.”

Then why do polls show that 75% of Republicans think Trump will be the nominee?

At the very least, Dems are going to have to spend a lot of money in states they didn’t need to in the previous two cycles. Maybe even NY State.

I can see the Hillary ads now, pictures of her and Donald and how he supported her and why he believes in the principles of the democrat party.
All the dirt the press is holding on Trump till after the convention.
Like who’s suing him, who he’s blackmailed, who he’s bought, what graft he’s taken from the taxpayers, how many people he has destroyed to get what he wants.
I understand Trumpers will see that as a positive, so did the brown shirts, right up till he doesn’t need you anymore!
So I say, enjoy your one finger salute, you may not get another!
Honestly I hope I’m terribly wrong!!!
