I am so glad you have told me this bgill. Thank you! I'm going to call the yearbook department at Stanford Monday and ask them to check and see if there are any yearbooks in storage for the year 1977.
Back in 2004, I called my alma mater and got the yearbook dept on the phone and asked if they had any copies for 1979 and they said they'd check in their storage building and that I should call back the next day. I called back the next day and they told me they still had seven copies and I paid $50 for the book plus Fed Ex. (this '79 book was the one I was missing. I somehow lost the original I had purchased. In fact, I have that yearbook now along with the other three on the shelf in my study.
This is such fantastic news bgill and thank you again so much for posting this to me!! I'll post what I find out Monday after I call. I'm hoping they at least have one more copy left.

If I am able to buy a copy from Stanford, I'll post a thread about it and get my son to paste pictures out of it. I have no clue how to do that. It's like html, I have a mental block on all that.
I'm also going to call Craig later this morning when it's about 10am out there and ask him to drive over to the campus and actually go in person to see if he can find out if there are any '77 yearbooks left and have him buy one for me! Hell, I'd pay $200 for one right now!

I just thought of some excellent ideas. Do you think whoever has the '77 yearbook still has it? And if so, would you contact him/her and ask if they would like sell it for $200. Or even $250! And if they will, I'll mail you a money order from the post office for the what you pay them (and your Fed Ex charges in advance in the same money order. OK?
My other idea, is that if they don't want to sell that copy, ask if you can borrow it long enough to take pictures of it and the whole page?

I found this site for online yearbooks but the Standford ones latest is 1971 - http://www.e-yearbook.com/ . Looks like there are other sites but I don’t want to sign up.

Excellent news! Today (March 1st @ 5:45pm cst) I called the Green library at Stanford and I asked the librarian who answered my call, if he knew if they had a copy of the Stanford 1977 year book. He asked if I would hold on for for about five minutes while he went upstairs to to the "Lane Reading Room" and when he came back, he told me ..."yes, we have the 1977 year book that you're asking about." He then said that it can Not be checked out but the public is welcome to come into the library. All that is required is a valid drivers license. So, this done, I'll call my friend Craig again and see when he can drive over to the campus and look at that 1977 year book for the Jarrett quote. I'll post an update here.

Btw, if in the end -after Craig drives over to the campus- and if he does not find the quote by Jarrett in the ‘77 year book, then I’m going to call that sorority, Delta Sigma Theta and ask if the have any written records from 1977 about meetings and guest speakers. I’ve not pinged poster odds to inform him of any of this, as I’d imagine he is destraught and is on his way to be with Rubio and jeb to catch frogs.
