Sorry, I should have said “NO GOOD CASE” or something to that effect.
I do understand the point about “the little guy”: As I’ve posted before, if a highway (or a limo stand) gets plopped down on me, there’s almost no way I could recover being able to do the work I love and the life I live. It’s taken me 30+ years (40+, now that I consider it more fully) of sometimes fearfully hard work to build up what I have now*, and even if I was paid twice what my property is worth, plus loss of income for a year or two, and money to move, I’m getting old enough that I just don’t think the energy is in me to start over.
I’ve also posted regarding protections that could be added to protect the little guy from not being generously compensated.
On the other hand, I witnessed a case maybe 4-5 years back, locally, where someone was able to successfully delay for years even “public use” — improvement of a very dangerous road — to squeeze as much money out of their property as possible (from the taxpayers, I might add.) A couple people died on that road, in the meantime.
Maybe Kelo went too far — I just try to see both sides of it. And maybe the Constitution needs an amendment here to better fit modern circumstances - the founders allowed for such with good reason.
*As an aside, I’m sure I could have done “better” in the stock market! But I tend to think whatever slight measure of improvement I’ve been able to add to the lives of others is a “value” beyond money alone.
Anyway, maybe I can come back to this some other day. Responsibilities call... Thanks for the reasoned discussion. :-)
I do not wonder why, since it is giving him the ability to speak clearly about issues all the "bought and sold" candidates have had to tlptoe around or deny outright or "reach across the aisle" or cave in on. I give thanks to God that this man's money has given him the ablility to set the agenda so clearly. At the debates, the other candidates are playing catch-up, trying to echo what Trump said from the jump when he announced in June.
How many bankruptcy Mulligans do I get?
Like many of the uninformed haters on FR, you have not done the math to calculate what percentage of Trump's many, many business entities were ever involved in a bankruptcy, or even what percentage of that one business that has had Chapter 11 (business reorganization, NOT personal bankruptcy) that Trump actually owns; and who the other players and investors were in the property. If you had done this simple research, you would see why people who are informed about investment banking think your attempts to smear him with the word "bankruptcy" are pitiful.
Many here on FR seem to believe that because they can post words online with no personal accountability, that those words are accurate simply because they have been posted.
Others of us continue to hold to the standard of truth and accuracy, because we love FR and want it to remain a reliable source of information. Your emotional but inaccurate, biased or slanted posts about Trump (and, I suspect, various other topics) are not holding up to scrutiny.
Anger is not hatred.
As far as my being wrong about Cruz’s ineligibility to legally become President, I am 100% certain that he does not meet the very first requirement expressed in the Constitution to attain the position.
The son of a foreign citizen cannot be NBC of the USA.
