Your analogy fails because this was not a robbery.
It was a case of bad campaigning on the part of Carson. His actions cast doubt on his commitment to the campaign. HIS ACTIONS. His failure to have people at each precinct caused the question to have credibility. HIS FAILURE. His lack of last minute messaging to his party faithful left them wondering what was going on. HIS LACK.
You don’t run a campaign that way.

Robbery is just an example of what it was, and that is an opportunist taking advantage of an opportunity.
And yes you can run a campaign that way. It is up to the voters to judge the quality of a man’s campaign and then determine if they want their country run the same way. It’s not up to Ted Cruz.
And the failure in this matter was on the parts of Cruz and Rubio, and the failure is in their character.
It really is amazing to me to see seemingly otherwise intelligent, ethical and moral people blame the person who was victimized and defend the perpetrator, because they want to elect the perpetrator to be president.
In fact it blows my mind.
If you can’t see that Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio behaved in a dishonorable and opportunistic fashion here, and in a way that is Not Christian like, as they both claim to be, then you are simply being dishonest with yourself.
To win at any cost is to lose.
