A funny scenario comes to mind with all of this: In a culturally awkward attempt to rectify a Year of the Monkey public relations fiasco, some Chinese ministry official in Beijing says, " Year of the Monkey will now be Year of the NBA basketball player."

Just image if this were the “Year of the Rat” and they gave out t-shirts at the basketball game.

However, since this is also an election year, and the Democrat Party’s symbol is the jackass, I propose that we make “Year of the Democrats” t-shirts showing a drawing of a jackass’s ass. That would be “truth in advertising”!
The secondary caption would be “Democrats: Leading from the rear”.
Or “Democrats: What you see is what you get”.
Or a t-shirt with a picture of “The Democrat jackass, a tube of Preparation H” and a caption that said, If you vote Democrat, don’t forget to take this along. You’ll need it!”

When I look at a monkey I don’t think of black people, so why do blacks? Is it because they mostly have black fur? So do other animals.
Given that their market is in the People’s Republic of California, this is a reasonable decision. Any attempt to have fun is inherently an attempt to offend in that blighted one party oligarchy.
