A spokesman for Sen. Ted Cruz's (R-TX) presidential campaign on Tuesday dismissed Dr. Ben Carson's charge that Cruz supporters played "dirty tricks" to win the Iowa caucuses.
"On the Ben Carson allegation, it's just false. We simply, as a campaign, repeated what Ben Carson had said," Cruz spokesman Rick Tyler said in an interview on MSNBC's "Morning Joe."
Carson accused Cruz supporters of spreading false rumors that the retired neurosurgeon was dropping out of the presidential race after CNN reported that he would vacation in Florida following the caucuses. Carson, whose campaign had clarified that he was returning home just to grab some fresh clothes, said Cruz's campaign used "dirty tricks" to lure his supporters over to the freshman senator's side.

Why Rubio is not attacking Trump, Cruz is.
It is a documented fact that Cruz is a liar. Cruz ran and ad stating eminent domain make Trump rich. That is a flat out bald face lie and that is not the only one.

Yup. It would be interesting to see their reaction if Trump had pulled this stunt. I was a Cruz fan but this is the second time he’s pulled a slimey maneuver. Rubio and Cruz - same peas in the pod.

I wouldn’t disagree that he has much to learn about how to play the game, but note that Tyler doesn’t answer the yes/no question “wasn’t that deceptive?” Came acrosss as slimy. And I like Ted Cruz..

Even if it was true that Cruz folks told people that Carson was dropping out, it's up to Carson’a supporters to know the truth - and Carson should have gotten his message out.
I like Carson a whole lot. claiming this hurts Cruz is BS.
I know Fox is in the bag for a RINO who never it may be,but can someone please tell me why TED Cruz is hardly ever on Fox and Friends,I thought for sure he would be on this morning,he did win the Iowa Caucus didn’t he?

Where are the reports of Cruz’s people saying there would be a big announcement from Carson “tomorrow”? The email sent to precinct heads said a big announcement next week. CNN had tweeted around 5pm that Carson would not be campaigning for the next couple primaries. What else did CNN say when talking to the Cruz campaign? They could easily have said that Carson was going to have a big announcement.
CNN acts as if they are above the fray here. THEY are the source of these lies. Why don’t people point the finger at the people who documentably started the lie, and find out what their involvement was in the creation and spread of that lie?
Don’t bother with these “Cruz is a liar” folks. They have a bug up their ass about something and nothing you say will change that.

Its a little harder to take when the lying is coming from the “body of Christ.”
I’m becoming convinced that these over the top charges against Cruz - “slimy”, “liar” etc. are calculated by GOPe plants to help Rubio.
I think this whole thing was a set-up by Rubio’s people, CNN and other media companies that want Rubio, and the GOPe whose operative has GUARANTEED that the candidate will be chosen by a brokered convention (which would need Rubio to rise while both Trump and Cruz fall).
This reeks, and the one who benefits is Rubio - whose campaign just so happened to start talking about how they were going to surprise everybody right around the time that CNN put out this lie (and around the same time as a probable Rubio supporter, Jannings Brown, put out an article accuzing Cruz of slimy tactics).
